Mock Draft simulators

I signed up for the cheaper 1 yr version of PFF (around thirty dollars) and it offers some excellent draft tools beside its basic coverage of NFL player grades. The NFL website also offers a Mock Draft simulator for 2022. Both are fun to use just to get a "feel" for who might be available at our various pick selections...and both offer the ability to "trade" picks...

I've messed with several Draft/Mock simulators and traded up with Detroit to land #2 pick overall (still drew an F grade for the trade...swapped R1 and R3 2022 picks and a reluctant R1 and R3 from 2023) to grab A. Hutchinson(A+) to give our d-line some "Bite". I used both of our R2 picks to grab QB D.Ridder (A) and QB K.Pickett (B-) for serious competition with Lock...I used our R4 to grab Domann (A) as CB and both R5's to grab T.Walletsko (OT)(A) and Z. White (RB)(B+) while using our R7 pick on another young center D. Kramer (A-). PFF gave me the player grades with an overall grade of A-. Free Agency/Draft has become fun again...

Interesting. Have you done this before? If it wasn't for the fact that the weather is starting to improve and I now have plenty of stuff to do outdoors, I might have wanted to give it a whirl.

The simulators can be fun, but they depend upon somebody's big board, which can have major flaws. Sometimes you can find a 4th round pick with 2 or 3 players available who might be considered 1st round players. Fanspeak has had one with a choice of big boards, but the last I checked they weren't on line. Too bad.

The PFN site works well, even if it is not particularly good with the choices.

Their boards are definitely a shortcoming and sometimes the trades that are offered on some sites are very strange but it isn't meant to be a definitive ranking or rating of players or who teams will select.
I suspect that the generated picks don't have the depth of evaluation for scheme fit and sometimes even real needs. I saw one last year near the end of the season and it had us needing a Safety when we
had Diggs and Adams starting. But they are fun to play around with and sometimes select or offer players you might not know much about.

I experimented with some trades using the PFF and PFN draft simulators :

PFN First : Traded #9 to Ravens for #14 and #45...traded #41 and #109 to Browns for #44 and # 78...traded #44 and #229 to Saints for #49 and #98... traded #98 and 2023 6th to Rams for #104 and #142...final trade #152 and 2023 7th to Cowboys for #155 and #193. Five trades total...

They are fun to play with but you can get some wild variations of players that are
available when it’s your time to make the pick.
For me, some of the real value is exposing me to some players I don’t know much about.

Those simulators are fun, I've done some myself, but the trades are unrealistic. No way Baltimore is giving you 14 and 45 for 9. According to the 2022 trade value chart, that's 200 points in favor of Seattle. The second trade is nearly 100 points differential.

Like I said, those are fun, but don't get sucked into those trades or else you'll be disappointed on draft day with the real trades JS actually makes.

I just did a mock draft on PFN and it reflects the general direction I would like to see the Seahawks go.
I've loaded up on Offense (mostly the OL) and will take a QB next year with 3 1st round picks. It didn't work out to get a stud RB early but Haskins looks like the real deal to take some of the load off
of Penny and be a hammer in the backfield.
