An upgrade? For a player that had a hard time starting for one of the worst teams in the league? Doesn't sound like an upgrade to me.

It continues our depletion of talent - replacing a good player with a questionable player.
Besides, if he's depth, who is starting? Tre Brown, I guess, if he's healed from his ACL.

So, I think an OT would still be on the table should a good one fall to 40 or 41. It's a good sign that they are checking OT's out, though.

I suspect scheme fit for Dunlap, but he also didn’t play much for us last year.
NorthHawk wrote:I think we have enough Cap space for Mayfield should they want him. My fear is them giving up too much in compensation. Anything more than a 5th round would be too much for me.

Browns have no leverage in a Mayfield deal. I think a 3rd or 4th is realistic for whoever wants him. I hope it's not us.

TriCitySam wrote:As for Mayfield, really depends if you can get a new deal in place that's reasonable. I think the Browns overpaid (although I guess several teams were willing), but it must bug the crap out of Russell that a guy with DW baggage was worth 3 #1's.

Even if that's true, I think it's a little too harsh. This is a business, and as I said in another thread, everyone lies to one degree or another. It's accepted behavior. It's what you get with 24/7 news, social media, and instant communications. People lie just to get others off their backs. It's emblematic of how society in general has evolved.

F bombs at each other), and it was in part why John was scouting some of the better QBs and explored
trading Wilson to the Browns for the #1 pick that year supposedly for Allen.
So there was desire on both sides to part ways.
NH why is it that people cant just say why? Does the "why" really matter. Benedict Arnold was actually cleared of all corruption charges by the Continental Congress, Gov Read, who hated Arnold, then threatened Washington to pull Pennsylvania out of the Revolution. So WA threw Arnold under the bus to the Newspapers, then tried to make up for it by giving him 2nd in Command. But by then the treason was already committed. Why? He did it for the men, that's what WA did every thing for. Why was Pete scouting Josh Allen in the first damn place? Come on, no way we get a Josh Allen. Why was RW, Mr. Pollyanna, so butt hurt about it? Who made the first move? Why dont they just tell the damn Truth, NorthHawk!! Its like the long saga when Wayne Gretzky, left the Oilers.
