Well, not yet anyway. I’m willing to wait and see. Pete went 7-9 in his first two seasons with a bedrock roster breakdown and rebuild lwhile waiting for the right qb. And Wilson didn’t fall into their laps; Schneider read the tea leaves correctly and grabbed Wilson earlier than many thought he should go. That wasn’t luck; that was them doing good analysis. And they rightly didn’t overspend or reach for the qb they didn’t think was the best option.
They have the chance to do that again. This doesn’t look like the year to go after a qb in the draft but could be a very good opportunity to fill other positions of need. Start setting up the roster for the TBD QB. Yes, I do have concerns that they’ll make good on this with the draft, but I will hope they succeed.
And Wilson brought unprecedented success to this franchise, but he also hadn’t been himself since Let Russ Cook was proven to be temporary. Wilson caused a significant portion of his sacks and it was maddening to see him force deep throws into double coverage instead of methodically working over a defense. He wanted his big plays. I think he’s becoming less about the game and more about the fame. My biggest ache with Wilson is that he is more than capable of playing a balanced game and taking what the defense gives him, but he got away from that and doesn’t seem interested in playing that way. I suspect Denver is giving him more authority over the conduct of the offense.
Wilson isn’t easily replaceable, but this team can still be a competitor without him. Time will tell.

I don't think we sit still with the QB's we currently have. I would fully expect us to bring in some former starters like Marcus Mariota, Carson Wentz, or Gardner Minshew to compete for the job. We may all think that we're in a full rebuild, but Pete may still believe that he's just a player or two from winning another Lombardi and has his eye on the QB he wants to run his or keep the seat warm while he learns team.
And who knows. I'm not holding my breath, but there's some that believe that Drew Lock was not given a fair chance in Denver, so maybe he blossoms into something totally unexpected.
We may end up going 0-17 next season, but it's going to be an interesting lead up to it.

Yeah whatever happens with the Broncos this year we, as Hawks fans, have to hope for a bad overall record. They can play for a SB in 2 years, but next year I hope they have the worst record in the league.

If we weren't getting a draft pick from them next year then I would hope they won every game, RW was the MVP, and they made it to the SB (obviously losing to the HAWKS, if they weren't playing the Hawks then I would want them to win). I love RW and hope him nothing but success as long as that success doesn't impede the Hawks in anyway.

Armstrong just flipped on the Cowboys, to the Broncos. Jones one of the most underrated defensive lineman went from the 49ers to the Broncos, more and more forces are gathering around Russell Wilson in Denver. So if you guys think that Russell Wilson is washed up the players know and they’re not buying it.

Then all the garbage comes out about how his “team” ranked 14 potential landing spots based on various factors to decide where @ they “ wanted to demand a trade to . Then I hear it was so bad JS and Mark Rodgers were dropping FBombs on one another . Wilson unveiled a clothing line with orange accents a few weeks after his “ oh I love Seattle , I hope I’m here . I want to win 3 or 4 more super bowls and I hope it’s here . “ that stuff was being made .
I’d like to retract my statements . I hope he blows . I hope he sucks so bad he suck starts a Harley . And imo he is the 3rd most capable QB in the division . Based on last year he’s a hell of a lot closer to Carr than Mahomes . 3 years ago he was Mahomes equal . Now it’s not close . He got beat by Ryan Tannehill , Kirk Cousins , Taylor Heinikin , and Colt McCoy not to mention Nick Foles . That’s 5 of his 8 losses as a starter . He was a major factor in every one of those losses . Good luck facing Bosa and Mack twice a year along with a kid that’s twice as dangerous as you . Mahomes x2hell I’ll get my popcorn when they play the raiders and the QB Russ wanted to take his job and said it publicly . Carr has some grit , some fire .
If Wilson never wins again I’m cool with it . The hell with him . I feel like a guy that was married 10 years and found out my wife was sleeping with everybody BUT me the last 3 years .
I’ll be surprised if they win 9 games next year with mr hit too much . He’s playing like it more all the time.
I said after his comments a year ago trade him now . Chicago had an enormous package offered . JS walked it back and we had a 35 million dollar head case that went 6-8 and lost trade value .
Probably belongs in the vent thread but oh well I’m sorry . Not
NorthHawk wrote:From what I heard from Pete in their press conference, Russell wanted to move to a team he thought had a better chance to win.
I'm sure he's seen the huge decline in talent on the Seahawks and the lack of creativity on Offense must have been frustrating.
Now he goes to a team with a progressive Offense and a good Defense where he will have the full support for his ideas to make
the Offense run better.
TriCitySam wrote:The article lays out some divides. Yes, Pete was unhappy with 7 picks over 2 games and wanted a more balanced attack. I get that entirely. RW wanted to manage his “legacy” and that included running the offense the way he wanted, input into personnel, had his own team to manage his training and own QB coach. Feeling within the organization was that RW was me, not we. And we heard some of that from current and former players. I understand why the coaching staff wasn’t happy, and to a certain extent why RW wanted changes. But, if he wasn’t bought “in”, better to split. I don’t know of a team that allowed the QB to dictate, and certainly a winning team.
