Blockbuster: After weeks of negotiations, in one of the largest trades in NFL history, the Seattle Seahawks and Denver Broncos have agreed to terms for a deal involving Super-Bowl winning QB Russell Wilson, sources tell ESPN.

The trade is pending a physical and Wilson’s approval.

It would make sense as this might be the Bronco's Plan B. The Packers just announced that they are bringing Aaron Rodgers back:

Today, reports have Aaron Rodgers signing a monster 4-year extension worth up to $200 million, with $153 million guaranteed. And with that, the Packers have slapped the franchise tag on his top target, Davante Adams.

The most common landing spot for Rodgers in predicted trades was Denver.

It makes sense for Wilson as he can now play for Paul Hackett in a much different offensive system.

Wow so much for that Russell wouldn’t tell a little lie :D God speed little Superman . Thanks for the memories and all the great times , all the generosity and class at all times . I’ll root for you unless you losing helps us .
I wonder if we get Drew Locke or some other prospect .I see why Pc wanted Geno back. A bridge to the future maybe .

I'm in shock. Pete, Russ, and John all LIED to us. I know I was anti RW many times, but everything started to click to finish the season. I also don't trust PC JS to reassemble a championship team again.

He wanted a more progressive Offense so now he gets his wish.
One report said Drew Lock coming this way. Still 7 or 8 wins if he’s the starter.
We will get the 9th pick from Denver,
Matt Corrall maybe?

Thanks for all the memories Russ... Best QB in franchise history and an HOFer. If we aren't winning it all I hope you do.

It sounds like Drew Lock is part of the deal.

As Mike Holmgren once said, everybody lies.

Does anyone still question why as much as I like certain coaches and players, that I don't put them on a pedestal to be worshiped? This news, if it's true, is going to devastate a whole lot of fans that swore on a stack of bibles that Russell wasn't going anywhere simply because he and Pete said so.

From PFT

Though the exact terms of the deal are not known, Seattle will receive multiple first-round picks plus additional picks and players, according to NFL Media’s Tom Pelissero.

Multiple reports also indicate that Drew Lock will head to the Seahawks as part of the trade

A minor part:

Lock will likely be a small part of the compensation as the early reports indicate multiple first-round picks as well as other players beyond just Drew Lock.

https://www.milehighreport.com/2022/3/8 ... e-seahawks

Also involves DL Shelby Harris:

Denver informed quarterback Drew Lock he is part of the package headed to Seattle, Pelissero added. Defensive lineman Shelby Harris is also joining the Seahawks, per NFL Network's James Palmer.

Yes, a very minor part. He is a backup QB. I imagine he is the equivalent of a throw away for the Broncos in this trade.

Shelby Harris fills a hole for us if he’s healthy.
I would be really impressed if th trade included Javonte Williams, but that
might be too much to ask.

Harris started 16 games last season, so it sounds like he's pretty healthy. Beyond that, he's pretty much a mystery, at least to me.

Here's a little more on what we might be getting:

According to Jay Glazer of FOX Sports, the Seahawks will receive two first-round picks, two second-round picks, a fifth-round pick and three players for Wilson and a fourth-round pick.

The long-term plan can't be Drew Lock. Maybe they liked him out of College and want to give him a shot but there is no way he is Plan A. You don't make this trade if you don't have a decent plan at QB.

That is not great compensation, IMO. It sounded like we were offered more last year by the Bears. 2 1sts?? That's what we gave up for a Safety! I hope that is not the actual package.

Also, I despise Pete and John. I expect to move on shortly. What is the point of keeping Pete around at his age to rebuild? Ridiculous.

That's your take, and that's fine. Mine is that we've "essentially" been a very mediocre club, 1 playoff win in the last 5 seasons, not a serious SB contender for the past 7 years.

Not sure why that is considered so awful. Wilson hasn’t played to his potential for a while now. Some his fault some not. I’d have been happy to keep him, but I don’t think he’d warrant so much more than this. Two of three players are starters. Wilson’s age may not have helped his value in that he doesn’t have that same gear that he used to.

Again, I would have been happy for him to remain a seahawk, but this deal is hard to turn down.

Absolutely. This has started to warm up for me. We are clearly lacking in talent, especially compared to the NFC West. But, can Pete and John land another QB that tilts the room? Russell has driven me a tad crazy lately, so perhaps it was time.

That has been my thought. I didn't think Pete and RW would be together next year, but I was thinking PC would be the one to move on. Why would he want to coach a team without a franchise QB. I dislike Peteball but he has created a situation where that is our only chance at success... I image the goal is much like when he took over before. Focus on a dominant defense and offensive line.

Good for you for manning up. I certainly didn't predict a trade, but I wasn't surprised or shocked, either.

Agreed about Pete, but he did it once with an emptier cupboard and with fewer resources than he has now.

Of course, a few things still have to happen, like Russell's OK and his passing the physical.

I’m wondering if Wilson wanted more say in the offense. An team with a QB owner and defensive gm may let him have that. Wilson really didn’t seem interested in short to medium throws that consistently moved the chains even before the finger injury. Instead for getting the ball on a short to mid read it was hold on and try to run around and make the big play. Can’t always do that.

It's about what has been rumored, which was 3-#1's plus players. If Russell really wanted out, I think this is about as good of a deal that we could expect.

If this is true, it likely means that we're in for a major rebuild. Who stays? Is it worth it to pay Bobby? How about Diggs? Do we resign him to what he's going to want? Do we go out and aggressively find another quarterback or wait for one to fall into our laps like we did with Russell?

Do you think that Metcalf is going to be happy playing for a rebuilding team or would it be worth it to trade him and haul in even more picks?

It's probably worth a thread of its own if this turns out to be true.
