Free Agents

Quandre Diggs believes he will "come back better" from his ankle injury. Hopes things work out "if it works out for both sides, and I feel fairly compensated; knowing that I'm a two time Pro-Bowler, All-Pro and one of the best of not the best free saftey in football - I have to be compensated as well". Translation: I want a lot, like highest paid safety in football, or at least close to what you paid Jamal.

We'll see. By all accounts, Diggs is a fantastic teammate and very likable player, but I don't like the thought of paying both him and Adams top money when they both have health issues.

Sounds like smart agent talk to me. He will check the market and see what teams will offer. Never hurts to ask for the moon, who knows?

If he thinks he should be the highest paid safety in the NFL there is no way we can really keep him. I think he was our best player on Defense last year, but you can't have the two highest paid safeties in the NFL and a QB getting paid 35 mil/year. We made our bed with Adams and now we have to lie in in. That trade just keeps getting worse and worse. Wait until he has an obscener cap number in a few years. Our only hope is that he has a cool market. If that's the case, based on those comments, I see him taking a one year prove it deal before signing a multi year deal for under 15 mil/year. Hope we can keep him.

I suppose, just seems that negotiations don't go well for those who hold themselves above everybody else.

Diggs is a hell of a player . Gets out of position sometimes gambling but it’s why he’s picking off so many balls . The thing is the mans foot was on backwards so I’d be leery of paying top dollar next season unless there’s lots of incentives for playing time and performance .

I remember Jeremy Lane who was a nice nickel back until Roid rage Edelman ruined him with a cheap shot in 49. He was never the same .

Regardless Diggs is a great safety , our best since ET and I’d love to get him back healthy .

Diggs was one of our greatest acquisitions on Defense but the severity of his injury makes a multi-year contract laden with guaranteed salary too risky...he talks as if he wants the team to let him test the free agent market...sadly I see him getting his "wish" just like Earl leaving with his injury and Sherm after his injury...I doubt he'll accept a 1 year deal...but I can hope!

Is the team going to pay that much for 2 Safeties?
It would be a rarity in the NFL to do so.
