In other words, we play the AFC West, NFC South, same place finishers in the NFC North (Lions) and NFC East (Giants), and the 17th game vs. the Jets.

It looks pretty favorable based on 2021 records, an advantage of finishing last in our division.

I could see us going 6-5 vs none division opponents, but its a long offseason so its tough to predict at this point. It seems our easier none division games are at home and our better opponents are on the road

We actually benefited with the 49ers having a resurgence...great timing.

It's pretty difficult to handicap schedules this far out. I generally don't like pegging teams until after the first 4 weeks or so. And this year was really strange, with teams like the Lions and Jags pulling off upsets, the Fins going on a 7 game winning streak, and so on.

True...many teams can turn it around...like the Cinn. Bengals...if your management takes advantage of what the NFL provides for teams with poor seasons.

The difference between finishing first and last really shows up in this schedule

Last season, 7 of our 11 non divisional opponents had made the playoffs in the previous season. Next season, just 3 out of 11 non divisional games will be playoff participants. Some of that disparity is due to the NFC West advancing 3 teams to the playoffs and the NFC South not getting any wild cards, but bottom line is that it's a pretty soft schedule, at least on paper and based on this season's results.

Here are the differences in schedules for the NFC West for opponents for those 3 games (2 games interconference for division placement and then the extra game which is against the AFC East this year)

Rams - Green Bay/Dallas/Buffalo
Cardinals - Minnesota/Philadelphia/New England
49'ers - Chicago/Washington/Miami
Seahawks - Detroit/NY Giants/NY Jets

On paper, that is quite the difference between a 1st place schedule and 4th place schedule.

Plus 2 of those 3 we get at home. We have 9 home games next season.

Makes walking it back for another roundup seem reasonable . No excuse to fail now .

I'll call it right now: 11-6, wild card seed, one and done in the playoffs, and that assumes that Russell stays.

If Russ returns to form, I see 11 or 12 wins. The NFC west is by all accounts the best in the league and this was a really EVEN division, even as poor as Seattle played: AZ was 4-2, Sea and LA 3-3 and SF 2-4. The Hawks had every opportunity to beat LA - but we were not playing to form. LA and SF have already won playoff games, so I don't see the Hawks as being 1 and done. Our division makes it tough to get the top couple seeds. If we had been in the AFC East....wow. It's early, and we have to keep our top FA's and improve our OL. Do I think with a couple good moves we an contend for the division title? I do, and if we finish like we did this year (we've done it many times), we can make some real noise.
