Prodraftanalysis.com Mock Draft: Austin Seferian Jenkins TE,

Postby stars81 » Sat Apr 12, 2014 6:43 pm

Prodraftanalysis.com has the Seattle Seahawks drafting TE Austin Seferian Jenkins at pick #32 in the first round.
I think that's a good pick for Seattle. He's a big guy that can catch and is highly underrated when it comes to in-line blocking.
He's not going to get a lot of separation, but he can use his big body to post up and get in position to catch the football.

What do you all think?

Hes coming off a foot injury which is the only reason he might be available at 32. He's a freak I would love to have him on the team.

TE is not a need...not at all. Why does the National media keep trying to convince us that the Seahawks need a pass catching TE so badly? We drafted one last year, Luke Willson, who will play the "joker" in 2 TE sets. We have Zack Miller under contract, he'll be the "Y" TE. We have a more than adequate backup with Anthony McCoy, and depth with Travis Beckum.

If the Seahawks draft a TE in round one, I'll be very dissapointed.

There are some mocks that have us taking a TE early in the draft, but I'm with monkey on this one. TE is not a position of need. We have 3 solid TE's on the roster. I want to see us take a Big Ugly or a WR, perhaps even a DL with our #32.

Welcome, Stars81.
I hope you stick around to post more.

Not sure I agree with TE as the 1st pick - much of what Monkey says is convincing and with a big WR and OL being needs, I doubt we see ASJ as the pick. Then again, I doubt many expected a RB with the first pick last year, either so who really knows?

Have to agree, TE isn't a position I want them addressing early in this draft. I liked what I saw from Willson last season, and am content for the Hawks to role with what is on the roster now ( and don't forget Finley, wouldn't be surprised to see him end up on this team at a low cost). Honestly barring some unforeseen circumstance I just don't see the Hawks making a pick like that. OL, receiver, hell even a DE they really, really like to rotate on the line wouldn't surprise me, but TE? Nah, just don't see it happening in the first or second round.....

I think it would be a wasted pick, it is not a need, no good having a pas catching Te when you QB is on the ground all the time. we need o-line and WR not Te. Not to mention injury, and personal issues

Welcome Stars-81!!!! Hope you stick around!!

I'm not so convinced that a TE w/ ASJ's talent doesn't upgrade this team. If he's a solid blocker, I wouldn't hate it. Though by now y'all know my motto: DRAFT FAT!!

Kinda like our first pick in last years draft. It wouldn't shock me if our brain trust went after a TE or even a CB. I've stopped trying to guess who PC and JS are going to take.
