The guy didn't even get banned any games. A 15k fine and nothing? What a joke. No well paid player will see that fine and penalty as anything other than a joke.

I can handle the league giving the Packers somewhat of a break, but not Rodgers. It goes far beyond Rodgers breaking of the Covid protocols, it's his subsequent behavior that under the league's personal conduct policy that represented "conduct detrimental to the NFL" that he should have been disciplined for. Does the NFL want their brand represented by an anti vaxxer that is promoting such provably false myths about the vaccine and the pandemic?

The league had a chance to step up and send a clear and strong signal about the pandemic, our best chance to defeat it, and to save lives, and they blew it. Rodgers should have gotten at least a 2 game suspension for his provably false lies and fabrications.

I'm seeing a lot of players on the NFL Covid lists lately.
Is there any idea as to whether these are all unvaccinated players or are these breakthrough cases?
If they are all unvaccinated, then the NFL has a major procedural problem and Rodgers is just the poster boy for it.
I think one of the Vikings OL is in hospital with Covid-19, but not much is being said about it.

I think that if Rodgers was suspended, then there would be a court case filed as all of the others are simply ignored and the teams move on to the next game.
That would be something the NFL wouldn't want to happen as it would expose a very poor Covid process and lack of caring (can't think of a better word) about this virus.

Edit:
Here is a link to an NFL Covid site by teams:

https://www.sharpfootballanalysis.com/a ... -policies/

I counted 158 players on that list.

I’ve heard of the Viking linemen who is in the hospital with respiratory issues . It just demonstrated how scary this is . No vaccine is ever 100% and it’s an overload of virus with delta . Cases are rising in a number of states again . And it’s driven by unvaxed . They are more contagious longer , get far sicker . I shudder to think what would have happened had vaccines been unavailable when this variant surfaced .

I have no idea where the league is coming from anymore from discipline to coronavirus policy to god knows what , taunting , defending the actions of a ref who should be suspended and denied playoff assignments due to his treatment of Cassius Marsh . That game reminded me of XL a bit. Awful football . The league is so big it succeeds in spite of Goodell

I, also was reminded of SB XL when the officials fu#*ed the Bears so horribly on MNF. Was it a coincidence that Pittsburgh benefactor of the bad calls? There were a few more than just the nonexistent taunting call that night.

I, too, was perplexed about that call against Marsh. And not only did he get a penalty, he's been fined by the league:

Earlier today, it was announced that the NFL would fine Marsh $5,972 for his unsportsmanlike penalty against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday night. The call at the time was a costly one, as it negated a big third-down stop by the Bears defense and allowed the Steelers’ offense to get a fresh set of downs during their 29-27 victory.

The second worst call took a TD pass off the board on a low block call on a bears lineman . Not only was it a legal block inside the tight end box but there was almost no contact . Terrible . I remember fields getting hit hard sliding and also blasted out of bounds helmet to helmet on a run on the sidelines . Corrente should face suspension but instead they are backing his actions , denying his hip check occurred , ignoring his stare down of Marsh and melodramatic delayed flamboyant toss of the flag . If that’s not a ref taunting a player I don’t know what is . That’s worse by far than a player maybe staring at the opposing bench from 30 yards away then getting flagged and hip checked after he’s walking away . We’re changing game outcomes based on guys whose bodies are weapons of war laying it on the line and then showing emotion . It never surprises me when the stealers and their mafia ownership benefit either .
MIt’s not hurt the NBA letting guys talk and have fun . It probably deserves its own thread but why is this arrogant league emphasizing something the fans don’t care about and most disapprove of the emphasis . It’s such a popular a success in spite of the league management but it could be so much better .
