They said you had to feed Allen Iverson the ball to keep him in the game whereas Jon Stockton only shot when the opportunity presented, AI's career shooting percentage was 42.5%, Stockton's was 51.5.
I can see it for RB's, as defensive teams wear down as a game goes on in the face of a consistent running attack and the payoff increases, but not for a QB.

So unless he gets more snaps the rest of the year, I'll end my appraisal of him by saying that he's an average backup quarterback that is not starter material. If we are to go into a rebuild next season, which I think is likely, we should not be bringing him back so we can open up a roster spot for a promising prospect.

We just have a minor difference of opinion on Geno Smith, don’t think he’s played well, and I don’t think he’s a good back up, he hasn’t won a game since 2016. Having said that, how many NFL teams could win games if their starter goes down? I would say out of 32, maybe three, and I can’t name the three.
PS, Take the Jaguars and the 3 1/2 this week.

Geno played a great game, deadly accurate, stood in a took some big shots, didn't turn it over. an eyelash from a 3 pass TD performance but he punched it in himself. 14 straight to start the game(longest to start a game all year) and they weren't a bunch of dink and dunks either. For the game he averaged 10 yards per completion. 3rd down conversions, perfect TD pass to DK. LMAO.
Why did I expect to read this? The announcers couldn't have disagreed more with your pooh pooh assessment of Geno. for 5 years on the pine he's performed very well unless he should be kicking the ball and catching interceptions too.If Wilson leaves he can start while we build and develop the next franchise guy on my seahawks. Hes not your Geno from the Jets anymore.

But I will eat some crow, he played great coming off a tough week. He can no doubt feel alot better about himself and I certainly didn't expect him to play that well. Must feel good for him as I imagine he wore that Monday night loss all week, knowing his opportunity to showcase himself was failing. So good on ya Geno.
I will leave it at that and won't give the proverbial "but......", I'll enjoy this one and see what happens in 2 weeks.

Hawktawk wrote:Jags won 2 of last 3 including beating the AFC East leaders and stuffing Josh Allen . Held them out of the end zone after Geno lit them up like a Christmas tree. Pittsburg is on its way to a 4 th win in a row. The Saints won against Brady before losing their Qb. The Titans are a threat to win the conference strictly because of the coach and did the rest of the division a big favor making Stafford look like Detroit Stafford , one of 7 upsets over the weekend . I’m re rating what was called an easy stretch of our schedule . Maybe we’re closer than we think . It’s clear Geno deserved a little credit for his play .
Hawktawk wrote:I haven’t done leagues in decades . As for the weekend games I watched Denver just go back to the leather helmet no face mask era and stuff the # 1 offense and trample an opportunistic big play defense . Watched the Rams look ordinary to bad but against the best coach in the league. Azs win surprised me without Murray or Hopkins . We will see soon enough . I don’t think it’s as bleak as I thought when Russ went down .
