Hawks to Cut Tre Flowers

It looks like we're kicking Tre Flowers to the curb...

According to NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport, the Seahawks are cutting cornerback Tre Flowers after he asked to be released.

And this is the guy that Pete Carroll couldn't find enough superlatives to say about and now he's hitting the bricks. I never did see what it was that Pete saw in him.

He wasn’t starting since Jones arrived and apparently asked for his release.

Not a Tre Flowers fan (is anyone?), but how funny would it be if he becomes a productive part of another NFL team?

Yeah, there's a lot of people that are thinking just like you guys. I see it repeated in various places.

However, I'm not one of them. Flowers does not have good ball skills. That's not something that a change of scenery or better coaching can change. He was the weakest link on what could end up being the worst defense in the history of the league.

I think Tre was an easy mark...and a conversion failure...he played like a safety in the box (good tackling/poor coverage). I also think it was his request since he felt he had his best camp since his rookie year and wants to escape the reminders of not transferring that to the playing field. He played well against DK and Tyler in camp/practices...which should have given him confidence...Dan Quinn might take a flyer on him.

Yah, it’s tough enough trying to make it in the NFL let alone learn a new position as well.
We have a history of doing that to young players and sometimes it works but often not.
