Bad day for kickers

Was watching the Chargers/Browns game after the GB/Bengals game. Never seen so many blown field goals and extra points. Incredible. Nine so far today and three more earlier in he week.

That was crazy! I was watching NFL Red Zone, and they cut away to the FG attempts. The Cincy kicker must have felt like he came out of the bathroom with his fly unzipped when he started celebrating what he thought was a walk off FG then realized that it had barely missed, actually clipped the flag on the left upright.

Lots of missed XP's today, too.

After Sunday's games the extra point success rate fell to its lowest since 1979 at 92.4% according to PFT.
Someone also said that it's the first time in NFL history that 3 consecutive FG's were missed (by both teams, not a single team).

I saw both of those tidbits. Too bad it didn't happen a few weeks later on Halloween.

Mason Crosby missed 3 potentially game winning FG's: A 36-yarder with 2 minutes, 12 seconds left in the fourth quarter, a 51-yarder at the end of regulation, and a 40-yarder in OT. The last two would have been walk off FG's. Plus he missed a PAT. Packers fans must have thrown bricks through thousands of TV's.

So that's 4 consecutive missed FG's between the 2 kickers. Certainly a rarity.

No wonder Crosby's hair is so gray.
