Curious to see if the #1s get any reps . You would think so installing a new offense . Hopefully nobody gets hurt

BBK's knee ... watching on game pass they leave the feed live with no sound during network advertisements and they showed his knee injury, pretty ugly angle that knee bent. Could be anything from a compete blowout to just a hyperextension with little damage though, hard to tell with those.

Taking anything away from a preseason game is a joke, however if Russell Wilson goes down we are just hosed!

That can be said for most teams though.
We did see a little of the up tempo change, some short passing routes, and pre-snap motion.
Defensively, it's pretty hard to tell how good they will be with a number of expected starters not yet seeing any action.
Pete said this year is different because of the lost game in pre-season and that they don't have the same film on younger
players they used to have, and it sounded like we will see the starters for some of the game next week.
The loss of Burr-Kirven is going to hit ST hard and depth at LB. I wonder if this might mean they would consider signing KJ Wright?

As Wyman pointed out early in the game, we needed to expect this because they used all but 3 or 4 of their starters while we scratched virtually all of ours. This was a practice in which they were still having a QB competition to determine their starter so they were goin all out to get a real game situation look at them both. We were merely sorting out our depth chart and trying out plays and formations that may or may not have been appropriate to the scoreboard and down and distance.

#2s or whatever I didn’t see much other than DeeJay and Bellore . They are still professional football players. 2 very lackluster performances

Some of them won't be at the start of the season. I think they played them more than the starters this year so they can get a good look at how players react to different situations on the field
and challenges from some starters on the other side. That they didn't do well as a whole doesn't mean that some of them didn't do well against proven NFL players.

McGough is toast. Too many turnovers and Pete hates that. Mannion will take his spot on the practice squad this year.

Yeah, Pete pointed out in his presser "this isn't how we've normally done things (playing 3rd, 4th depth and no starters), it's gonna look different". Indicated its just a chance to look at a lot of film on the young guys.....recognizing the Broncos played starters. But, boy, it's hard to watch.

I didn't have a chance to watch the game live as I've been off grid for a couple of days.

I'm not worried in the least about the final score or our 0-2 record. These preseason games are by no means an indicator of a team's success or failure in the regular season. It sucks reading about BBK.

What worries me right now?

Left tackle situation.

Defensive line situation.

Yeah, me, too. But that worry wasn't going to be alleviated by a preseason game regardless of the outcome.

It would have if some of these picks were performing well. The only pass rusher that seems to stepping up is Rasheem Green. The backup O-line seems pretty terrible.

The backup O-line, which isn't so much an O-line as it is a collection of 5 bubble players that have never worked together in a game, looks terrible against Denver's starters. The only draft pick that was expected to contribute immediately was Eskridge, and he didn't play.

I'm not trying to paint a smiley face on the game, rather pointing out that there is very little we can glean from these preseason games, especially the first two. This weekend vs. the Chargers we should get a pretty decent look, at least a couple of series, at those players we're likely to see a lot of in the opener.

Ursua and BBK both suffered ACL tears and are gone for the year.

We are receiving a visit from Geno Atkins today. I wonder if that means they didn't like what they saw from the interior of the DL - even backups or rotational players.
With Burr-Kirven out, we are also light at LB, so maybe we will see a return of KJ Wright like I mentioned earlier. Currently Nick Bellore is the primary depth and I don't
think that will work for the whole year.

Perhaps they'll start calling us Cincinnati West.

It sucks that we lost those two guys. I'd love to see KJ come back. He had a heck of a season last year and I was surprised that we didn't try harder to resign him. He's a casualty caused by the Adams signing.

Well, this is a passing league and our corners have to be a major concern.

I'm not sure what you guys are completely talking about.

Tre Flowers is expected to be a starting CB.

Jordyn Brooks is replacing KJ at WLB as far as I understand it.

Alton Robinson might be expected to start or be a strong rotational player on our D-line.

Bryan Mone is supposed to also rotate with Poona in the middle of the D-line.

Kerry Hyder Jr. we signed from Frisco to challenge for 1st or 2nd string DE for pass rushing.

Rashaad Penney is behind Chris Carson as our 2nd string RB?

This may not have been all our starters, but some of them are starters or key rotational players. We don't exactly have a lot of depth at this point. Our depth isn't looking great.

They've been pumping up Tre Flowers this offseason, with a number of talking heads saying that this will be his breakout season. So far, all he looks like to me like is Kelly Jennings 2.0.

He's coming off a major injury prior to having a career worst season. He's not the same Pro Bowl player he was a few years ago. He played in 8 games in 2020 and recorded one tackle and zero sacks. The Bengals released him last March.

But he'd be a good gamble at the right price. The injury he had was a torn rotator cuff and he had it surgically repaired, something I've experienced as well, and if he has as good as luck with his as I did with mine, he should be fine.

River, what do you think of Cowherd's prediction of us being 12-5 winning the division, and the Rams at 10-7? A little over optimistic to me.

I think it depends on how well Stafford does on offense. Stafford is a big step up from what they had and if the Rams defense maintains, they are going to challenge us strongly for the division.

Russell Wilson is better than Stafford with the best weapons he's had in his career.

But the Rams defense is better than ours.

So we'll see how that balances out as the year progresses.

It is optimistic, but not unreasonably so. We are the defending division champs, so if the status quo holds, we win the division.

At some point it has to go from the practice field to game day, and so far Tre has been "almost".
