New jersey numbers

Postby govandals » Tue Jun 08, 2021 4:36 am

Here are the new numbers for this year. Pretty sure Diggs wore 6 and Dunlap 8 in college. I don't recall if Witherspoon wore 2 in college or not.
Ryan Neal looked odd in 35, good choice with 26 IMO.

2 CB Ahkello Witherspoon

6 S Quandre Diggs (37)

8 DE Carlos Dunlap II (43)

9 QB Danny Etling (2)

10 QB Alex McGough (6)

11 WR Cody Thompson (81)

23 CB Damarious Randall (36)

26 S Ryan Neal (35)

35 CB Pierre Desir

36 CB Saivion Smith

46 TE Cam Sutton

51 DE Kerry Hyder Jr

52 LB Darrell Taylor (58)

58 LB Nate Evans

65 G Gabe Jackson

70 OT Cedric Ogbuehi (74)

75 DT Cedrick Lattimore (65)

81 TE Gerrald Everett

90 DT Bryan Mone (92)

92 DT Robert Nkimdiche

93 DT Al Woods

99 DE Aldon Smith

So has the NFL thrown out their rule that numbers are determined by position, such as 0-49 being reserved for backs and receivers and 50+ for linemen?

Yes. Across the league we are seeing players changing to different numbers.

All skill positions, DB's, LB's can wear single digits now. The original article I read didn't mention DE's could wear single digits, but Dunlap is.

I can't wait until I see a quarterback wearing #63 or #78.

Especially if he is as big as Jerrod Lorenzen (sp) was!

Hehe. Good one! I had forgotten about him. Didn't he weigh in at 300+?

I thought he was drafted at around 275 - 285, but got upwards of 300 at some point.
