Yeah a lot of have been on this for awhile. The poopy D is on PC and JS they had all offseason to fix the pass rush and they didn’t do anything to fix it.

At this point, it is what it is. We aren't going to get any better so we need to be scoring TD's on 2 out of every 3 positions. This is by far JS's worst performance of his tenure.

Sorry to say it, but Ken Norton has to go as the DC. Never seen so much bad tackling and out of place play by defenders along with no pressure. Our DBs seem lost and we had way too much broken coverage.

If this game doesn’t get JS off his butt, then this season will
be a waste of time for the players. No pass rush means no playoff success.

So where in the hell is Pete in all of this? He's supposed to be the best defensive mind of the millennium, or that's what we've been told. Doesn't he have some ownership for this POS?

I agree! I hate to day to say Assey, because I love Kenny, but he has to go! Our Defense is warmed over garbage!

If he's not willing to pull the trigger to get rid of Ken Norton, then he'll have to accept the blame himself. Head Coach has to know when things are not going the way he knows they should, especially if he is a defensive specialist. I imagine Ken and Pete's friendship is pretty tight and he wants to give Ken a long rope.

Not quite sure why you think it's ok to use a petty nickname like this to another man, but then again you've always been kind of a negative nebbish. I'll chalk it up to someone that can't help but exhibit such petty immaturity.

IMO he has to take a little more responsibility than that. This has ALWAYS been Pete's defense. Even before Norton arrived, it had begun to slip. That's why we got rid of Kris Richard and brought Norton in here in the first place. Pete's the one that signs off on these deals or no deals to bring players in here, is sitting at the head of the table in the war room during the draft, and so on.

Pete can't just keep throwing coordinators under the bus and wiping his hands as if that's the only problem. There's a distinct possibility that the game, at least defensively, is starting to pass him by, that he doesn't have the same eye for talent that he used to have. Even when he had crap do play with like he did in 2010, he's never had defenses as bas as these last couple have been.

It's not Norton. The talent isn't there and they didn't do much in the off season to fix the DL.
I think it's Schneider and the talent evaluators who are not running on all cylinders. Maybe they aren't
getting orders on what to look for or maybe they've lost some really good people, but this has been going
on for a number of years now. There's no way a team that is serious about going deep into the playoffs can
field a Defense as poor as ours and really expect to succeed.

I agree with this thought. Simply blaming Norton isn't going to fix what's wrong with this defense. There has been an obvious drop in talent since our LOB days, and you can't lay all of that at Norton's feet. I'm not defending Norton or advocating that he shouldn't go, but we're kidding ourselves if we think that simply getting rid of him and bringing in someone like Quinn is going to cure all of what ails us.

Totally agree, something is wrong all the way around on the D.... but Russ didn’t help with the very bad interceptions, they should of , won handily, the offense also got to conservative

I didn't like that last play call in regulation. Our best running back, Chris Carson, was out of the game, and Arizona was already out of timeouts, meaning there was less of a concern of an incompletion helping them save a timeout. I don't like taking the ball out of the hands of the top player in the league in critical moments like that unless they saw something obvious. I would have rather seen some type of play action or RPO and let Russ cook.

Yeah, that last play was really frustrating. If you are up by 7 then its much easier see the rational. Going 65 yards in 50 seconds with not timeouts is tough. Going 30 yards in that amount of time is against our D isn't too difficult. On that play you absolutely have to put the ball in Russ's hands. Now some of you were complaining a few weeks ago about putting the ball in Russ's hands in a similar situation (against the Pats maybe?) and he threw deep, stopped the clock, and people complained. I didn't mind the call then and I wouldn't have minded it yesterday, although I would have preferred some sort of play action with Russ on the move to the wide side of the field.

The other problem I had was with our defense was on the first play in OT after the interception. We give up the ball at midfield with roughly a minute to go and our corners are playing 8-10 yards off the AZ receivers when all they need is a FG for a win? Even the individual players ought to know better than that. As soon as they completed that first pass to Hopkins, I knew we were finished.

Our coaching staff, when they saw our D come out in that alignment, should have called timeout and gotten them up to the LOS.

Yeah, that was bad. Flowers was 10 yards off the ball. It's like he thought the only thing he had to worry about was not giving up a TD.
