Welcome back 'Quem!

Seahawks promote Shaquem Griffin to active roster: https://www.fieldgulls.com/2020/9/26/21 ... n-shaquill

Unusual for me to devote a thread to a backup PS promotion, but I like that the twins are back on the field together again!

Well, I'm not so hyped about the feel good story as I am worried about our anemic defense, a concern heightened by Irvin going down. Hopefully 'Quem takes advantage of this opportunity. We drafted him because we thought he could become a top quality pass rusher, but things haven't worked out that way.

In any event, we sure need someone to rise to the occasion. Maybe 'Quem can be that man.

He flashed some pass rush potential last year, which we need badly. At any rate he will almost certainly play more snaps than our #4 TE who was active for some reason last week even though he played 0 offensive snaps for us.

I swear that Shotty has an obsession with tight ends.

No doubt, he definitely likes to use them. It makes sense with our PA passing game the last few years, not so much so far this year. It is curious we had 4-TE suites down the first two weeks and didn’t have Robinson active. After all the talk about how good he looked this summer it said volumes when he wasn’t suited down the last 2 weeks. It seems like they would have given him a few pass rushing reps especially considering he had no pre season games and the Hawks has no pass rush. Now we are in a situation where his first reps are going to be in important situations, we really need somebody to produce with our 4- man rush.

There were exactly two passes toward our TE's last week. Dissley for 8 yards on, I think the second play and then the pick 6. I think that's the lowest total I've seen in years. Usually around 10 throws, but when your top 3 WO's and Carson are all playinig like all-stars, the TE becomes less of a weapon.

He did, good enough to keep on the 53 anyway.

Good to see him signed to the main roster.

Evidently Shaquem turned down 3 teams to remain with the Seahawks: https://www.fieldgulls.com/2020/10/1/21 ... -pass-rush

To remain with the Hawks or to remain with his brother? Or does it matter?

Maybe some of both. I think the Seattle organization is considered to be one of the desirable landing spots around the NFL. Pete's style generates an atmosphere that is appealing to playerrs.
