Heard that. We’re dead last in Defense, and with Irvin and Marques Blair out, unlikely we’re gonna get much better. Disappointing

Sounds like maybe Alton Robinson and Jordyn Brooks may be part of solution, I’d e have to loose guys at least we’re developing rooks quicker.

So much for being able to take advantage of the Niner's woes. Someone's going to have to step up.

I'd like to see a graphic comparing the injury rate between this season and previous ones, and not just as it applies to regular season games. Players get hurt in practices and preseason games, too, and eliminating them eliminates some of the injuries associated with them.

Man, real blows to our already weak defense. We're going to be like those weak defensive teams that hopefully can step up offensively to win. I never like those teams. In the playoffs where it's one game, one team, a decent defense can almost always find a way to shut you down for one playoff game and especially one Super Bowl game.

I think it was Schefter who said that there were 7 ACL tears this weekend alone, the most of any
one weekend. It makes you wonder why or if it’s just coincidence or lack of preseason.

But just that fact alone doesn't prove anything. There are ACL tears that occur in preseason games and scrimmages, too. I remember Teddy Bridgewater being lost for the season in training camp, Sam Bradford blowing out his knee in a preseason game. Those situations were eliminated or substantially reduced. The more times you step on the field, the more chance a player has of sustaining a career threatening injury. So are the overall injuries any worse now than at this point in the season in past years?

The other thing I want to hear is an explanation from an orthopedic surgeon as to what type of stresses can be minimized by increased practices and/or better conditioning. We know that more weight adds more stress to joints, but are there any other factors? Is an increase in the number of contact practices and preseason games going to help me avoid a high ankle sprain?

49ers are attributing it to sticky turf at the Meadowlands. Century Link installed new turf summer 2019. Only thing is other teams and players aren’t citing turf having played on the same field.

Is it a shoe issue? Or more likely abbreviated offseason/preseason where the ramp up to intensity was too quick?

There's a thing called football shape. You dont get in it without contact and game experiences. Id guess that's the problem. This is gruesome.I dont know how many guys I remember holding out around the league then coming in and getting hurt.
