RW - QB Survey

Postby TriCitySam » Mon Jul 27, 2020 10:24 am

Mike Sando did his annual QB survey, just published on The Athletic. He surveys NFL coaches and execs. It's an interesting read. Russ tied for #1 with Mahomes.

I agree with Russell and Mahomes being 1-2 and take your pick as to which is which. Mahomes is more athletic and has the advantage of very young legs and a more impressive first two years as a starter, with a league MVP and SB MVP, neither of which Russell has yet to attain. But Russell has an edge experience-wise, perhaps throws a better deep ball, and is no slouch himself. I don't think there's any doubt as to the top two.

I suppose if I had one game to play, I'd take Russell simply due to his experience.

For what it's worth, NFL's Player's Only Top 100 Poll has Russell at #1 or #2, I'm just catching the end of the show. And, no, it's not Mahomes or Donald ahead of him. This year NLF network mentioned they had the highest player response ever ( I assume due to players at home) so it's a pretty representative idea of how other players figure it.

Bobby at 13 was his highest rating and the odd ball was DK over Tyler -- just to see the players put DK in was surprising to me, but a nice look at the future and Carson, even with injury made the top 100, too.

Yeah but, what if they just flopped teams? RW on the KC Chiefs. Oh a real OL, RG, and Defense, really? RW would be having wet dreams, only it would be real!

Can't read the Athletic, I've been resisting paying premium fees at everybody's different sites, it's become as bad as streaming.

6'2", 4.3 40 yard dash at 228 lbs of solid muscle.

Not even sure how we got him when we did. This dude is a straight freak of nature. If he capitalizes, he's going be hard to stop for anyone.

Yeah he is a stud and by all accounts is an incredibly hard worker. Could be a top 10 recover as soon as this year (especially if we threw more!!). My comment was a question to JS, though. He said that the odd ball in the ranking was DK over Tyler, I was just wondering what he was referring to.

I got on a one month free trial.....as for the NFL Top 100, I don't see Lamar Jackson being ahead of RW or Mahomes.

I don't, either. He's Michael Vick 2.0.

NLF Networks broadcast of the top 100 players in the NFL, as voted on by the players has our 2 great receivers at 94 and 80 (or close) but it's DK at #80 and Lockett at #94. I just think overall Tyler is a better football player, but DK gets the press and media attention -- probably why he came in higher.

Later on, when Russell's highlights came on for his #2, almost every highlight of passing was with his TD's to DK. Only the impossible reception against the Rams was in the highlight reel for Tyler. By the way, DK certainly looks awesome when shown up in a highlight reel and if he and Russell really click, DK's going to be an All-Pro very soon.

The NFL Network top 100 this year has Tyler Locket at 65 and DK Metcalf at 81. https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/n ... 541085002/

That's good, Bob. Not many would dare to write it in pigeon English. Coming here as a teen, it had a lot to do with why i stayed here after leaving Seattle. But that was a long, long time ago.

Yeah I only lived there for a few years but I was as pretty local haole by the time I left. I pick up regional dialects pretty naturally and I tan pretty dark so with my shaved head and my naturally Polynesian looking body type I was often mistaken for a local. Took me a while to shake the pidgin from my normal speech patterns after leaving.

Living there gave me some of the best memories I have.

No problem, it happens. I just wanted to make sure I wasn’t missing something.
