I use it because once you program in your card or your bank you never have to type in all your information for online payments, it's just a few mouse click and done. I not only hate having to get my card out and type in a thousand characters to make a purchase but I don't feel secure giving my cc info to every site I want make a purchase from.
I appreciate your recommendations, but outside of having my CC number compromised a time or two, the last time being nearly 10 years ago, I've never lost a dime by an unauthorized purchase when using my CC. I'd rather take the rewards offered by my bank and simplify my budgeting by limiting my expenditures to one account. Additionally, I'm AOC's worst nightmare, making nearly all of my online purchases via Amazon, not so much out of brand loyalty but rather a record keeping thing if I need information regarding a purchase I made 10 years ago or so, so there's not many occasions requiring me to fetch my card from my wallet. It's worked well for us and I see no need to change it. I write perhaps 3-4 personal checks per year, all to individuals like Yoder.
