I often mute the sound so it isn't that big a deal for me. I usually do it when I've had
enough of the inane comments from the announcers.

I'll do that at times when we have company. I've also watched games in bars without sound. It's not a problem for me, either.

If fans tune out, it's not going to be the die hards like you and me. It will be the casual, novice fan that they have to get creative with to attract...cheerleaders, celebrities in the crowd, marching bands, etc, that would be the ones to change the channel.

I probably downed 25 cases of beer in the last 6 weeks. Watching Ram highlights day and night. Starting to get boring. Need to get out and hit the bars and bang some beavers.

I'm not sure the casual fans watch much Football on TV anyway. They do for the SB, but the regular season games don't seem
to interest them much. The TV audience would increase by way of those that would normally be at the game would be in
front of their TV's. My guess is about 800,000 more pairs (in most cases) of eyes on the TV and not at the game could mean a jump
in TV revenue. I get 800,000 by averaging 50,000 X 16 games each week.

If the sports books reopen with football, people will watch. If fantasy football and the daily gamers that go with that are playing, people will watch.
Fans are only necessary for the players. It seems that the casino's will be open, even in a limited capacity by labor day.

As for enjoyment or lack of, TV productions will work around issues like no fans in the stands. They don't show a lot of 'fans' in some of the lower end of the stadiums now, (see: Jacksonville and up to this year, Tampa and others) - the camera angles can be all down to the field from above for wide shots.
They certainly can add an audio track of 'fans' if they feel that's necessary.

I'm watching old NFL and college games and enjoying it. I've been watching some of the replay of "Red Zone" -- why not? I intend to watch football if it's on. I haven't met anyone who won't.
