Campbell trades to Ravens

This is sort of off-topic, but I was really hoping we would find a way to trade for him if he became available. The Ravens got him for a 5th and, although I’m not 100% on the details I think he will only count 14 mil against the cap next year. He is a game wrecker- just look at his sack numbers since the Jags signed him 3 years ago- 34 sacks! RW really pushed hard to sign him then. Really good deal for a 5th, especially with the limited options for pass rushers this off-season. It’s at her guy off the list of available guys. We need 2 of them (and that’s not counting Reed)!

It was a shock to see him going for only a late pick, but the devil is in the details, as apparently it includes an agreement that the Ravens will extend his contract, and his demands may be more than is reasonable.

Interesting- I hadn’t read that part. Like you said whatever that contract looks like could certainly be what kept us from trading for him. We don’t want to put big money into a 34 year old pass rusher.

I did a little dance of joy the day the Cardinals lost Campbell in 2017 to the Jaguars. Myck14 is right, he is a game wrecker and I don't think he ever played a bad game against the Seahawks. This is a terrific deal for the Ravens to only give up a 5th rounder for him.
