Weren't we projected to get 4 comp picks?

Overall, our draft picks are as follows:

2 (59)
2 (64)
3 (101)
4 (133)
4 (144)
5 (154)
6 (214)
7 (241)

From what I understand there is a maximum of 32 compensatory picks each year.
I guess we signed a couple of FA's this year that eliminated the extra pick that you expected.

Tankathon has our picks as 6th 215 and 7th 242 not that it matters much at that point.

Since there is such a big gap between 64 and 101 where a lot of value is found, it's
even more probable that JS trades out of the 1st round. We pretty much expect that
from him anyway I guess.

Could we have lost a comp pick due to our signing of Greg Olsen?

Agreed that JS will try to fill that gap you eluded to, but it might not be by sacrificing our #1. More than likely, we'll trade one of our 2nd round picks as they are within 5 slots of each other.

Trading a 1st gives a better return and we haven’t exactly been stellar with our 1st round
picks anyway.

I believe Olsen’s signing will be calculated for next years Comp pick formulation.

Plus he was cut and not a Free Agent. Only Free Agents are used in the comp pick calculation.

Thanks for the clarification mykc14.
That clears up that question.

Yea, that makes more sense. I should have realized he wasn't a free agent as we've yet to hit the free agency period. Thanks!

We don't have a 7th round pick.

1
2
2 KC
3 comp
4
4 comp
5 Pit
6 comp

IIRC, a 5th for Diggs, a 6th for Ursua, a 7th for Hollister. Sent a 2021 conditional 7th to Jets for Parry Nickerson. I don't remember if he initially made the roster so we may get that pick back.
