Sorry for the click bait, but I couldn't resist.

"Booger" is Booger McFarland of ESPN, and we may see Monday Night Football have the ability to flex games in the future:

NBC gets to flex, ESPN does not. That might change.

This would not take effect until the 2023 season, if at all, but ESPN (ABC/Disney) has made it known schedule flexing will be part of their negotiations for a new NFL broadcast/media rights contract.

Allowing for the flexing of MNF games would cause a revolt from fans. It's one thing to change the kickoff by a few hours, but this would be changing it by 24+ hours and cause many fans that travel to the games to have to change their entire transportation, lodging, and employment plans for the weekend. I say it doesn't go anywhere.

And it's not just the two games that are flexed, it's the entire schedule that's subject to it, or roughly half the regular season. Fans that have to travel any distance to a game would be reluctant to make travel arrangements knowing that there's a possibility that the game could be changed to another day.

I can see some sort of compromise, guaranteeing that MNF will have a certain number of matchups involving playoff teams and/or division champs from the previous season or a limited number of sub .500 teams, again from the previous season. But I can't see them going to a SNF-type flex schedule.

Bad for fans...but if they can flex Booger out of the broadcast, I'm good....maybe flex them both out and bring in Steve Levy, he's doing a nice job in the XFL.

I don't mind Booger nearly as much as I have past MNF/SFN color men, like Jason Whitten, Jon Gruden, Tony Cornhole, Joe Theisman, and worst of them all, Dennis Miller. Besides, you gotta like anyone with the name "Booger."

Sometimes we get too critical of broadcasters. I know that I don't like Tony Romo simply because of his voice, and I hear people expressing angst about Troy Aikman, Chris Collingsworth, and even John Madden whom I thought had matured into a very good color man. Howard Cosell Syndrome.

Tony Romo has more knowledge of the game than any of them. It's uncanny how he anticipates what the offensive play calls will be. His voice is a little gravely but so what. It probably stems from all those years of yelling out signals over the crowd noise during road games.
