Wade Phillips is available . I know he’s old but has a pretty good track record on defense .

I'm not sure if Phillips is the answer. Pete is going to want someone that can meld with his defensive philosophy. Defense has always been his long suit and Phillips and him might rub up against each other, but I'm with you in that I'm disappointed with Ken Norton's performance.
