Match ups against the Rams

Postby LTH » Tue Dec 03, 2019 11:58 pm

Im really excited about this game. The Hawks are undefeated on the road going into LA for what is destined to be a grudge match. Playing against an underperforming Rams team that has so much to prove after they Missed a field goal in Seattle to lose to the Hawks earlier in the season...

There are going to be some really good matchups in this game... The match up I like the best is our run Game vs the Rams D line... some might think that's crazy but The Hawks O line is playing well... Solari has those boys ramped up and I just want to see the Hawks pound them... last time the Hawks played the rams they Rushed for 167 yards...

Now that the D is playing a bit better hopefully the Hawks can stop Gurley( 82 yards rushing last game) and get some pressure on Goff (0 sacks last game)...

What matchups do you guys like?

There's been a lot of discussion about Tyler Lockett, why he's not being targeted more often in the past couple of games. If he's completely healthy, I suspect that we'll try to find ways to get the ball to him. We have a couple big receivers in Metcalf and Gordon that's going to attract a lot of attention from the Ram's D which might allow Lockett some opportunities. Other than that, I see a continuation of ground-and-pound, 1-2 punch with Carson and Penny. With the exception of Britt, it seems that our starters on the OL are all healthy and playing at their peaks.

The Rams are desperate. Their fan base, which was already lame in the first place, was embarrassed on that MNF beetch slapping they took two weeks ago, has abandoned them, and they don't want to go into their new digs next season on a downer. With another Prime Time game this week, they'll be itching for some form of redemption. I wouldn't be surprised to see a few trick plays, fake punts/FG's, taking gambles like passing deep on a 4th and one.

Normally I'd say that we should win this game easily, by 10 or more points. But this team has a nagging tendency to play down to their level of competition. I suspect that we'll see a game similar to what we saw vs. the Vikings.

This is the game where your sham ends.

Goff will slice and dice leaving heads spinning

Donald will take out RW early

I think there are still some lingering effects from Lockett's injury. He isn't on the punt return team, and doesn't seem to have that little extra that gives him his advantage.
All it takes is a small impact on quickness or speed in the NFL to make a very good receiver average.
