I'm not so sure about that. Going into Sunday's games, both us and the Packers had the same W/L record (8-2) and the same intra division record (5-1). After that, the next tiebreaker is best winning percentage against common opponents. One of the teams to beat the Packers was the Eagles, who we beat today. We have yet to lose to a team that the Packers have beat, nor will the Packers play a team that has beaten us. If us and the Packers win out and there's no 3 way tie, we'll get the nod.

jshawaii22 wrote:If the 49ers win, we stay as the wildcard for now, and when we beat them again, we would become the #2 seed, which, of course, assumes all four of the teams win out until that rematch at the end of the year.

Under that scenario, we would be the #2 seed, defeating the 49ers again, with a bye week with only the Saints having the upper hand on us, and we can't do anything about that.

All of that is true. What's also true is that the Niners still have to play both the Saints and the Ravens, and the Packers still have to play the Vikings. Additionally, the Rams, with 4 losses, are still not out of it as they still play both us and the Niners.

This is why I don't get too preoccupied about playoff scenarios until at least after the Thanksgiving weekend games. There's way too many viable possibilities.

I didn't get to watch the game today guys but I looked at the box score. How come Carson only got 8 carries? From the box score I see he put the ball on the ground once. Did Pete finally get enough of that? Was Carson injured at some point? Or was it more that Penny was having a career day?

Carson put the ball on the ground twice if you count the fumbled handoff from Russell. He did appear to be injured as at one point, he asked to come off the field.

But the major reason is that Penny got a lot more carries than usual is that on Saturday, Pete and Shotty checked into the Shack and started reading the "So What's Up With Penny?" thread and they were so incensed that they wanted to prove the author wrong so they took carries away from Carson and gave them to Penny.

Whats up with Penney????    His stock is up.Like I've said before hes got a gear CC doesn't have. And by my count its 1 fumble to however many? I love Carson to a point but man..... Don't trade Penney, hes going to start justifying his selection.

I would like to get another "hammer" in the draft this year. Not because I don't like Carson, I think
he's a very good runner and his attitude fits the team, but because the shelf life of a RB is short and
he is such a violent runner. I wonder if Jonathan Taylor is there when our first selection is up if they
would pull the trigger. He's not as much of a powerful runner as Carson, but he does break a lot of tackles, has
good hands, is surprisingly shifty, and also has another gear. A couple of other guys I like are Chuba
Hubbard from OK St., and AJ Dillon from Boston College. They aren't 1st round picks, but both have
some qualities that might help us. Dillon might fall to later in the draft because he's perceived to be
a FB at the NFL level at around 250 lbs, but he has the 2nd most broken tackles in the NCAA and has set
school records for yards in his stay at BC.

The defense is good enough to hang with Minny but the offense needs to seriously kick it up a notch for the stretch run. We should have put up 30+ with all that field position.I am glad Minny is home on Monday night.

The Rams appear to be in disarray. And I'm thinking San Fran will get their second loss when they play the Ravens. The Ravens handed the Rams their lunch tonight. The Rams defense is a shadow of what it was last year. I think not having Suh along side Donaldson has rendered Donaldson much less effective. Teams can afford to consistently double-team him.

I think you're talking about Aaron Donald. :D

The Rams don't just appear in disarray, they are in disarray. That b**** slapping last night was a total embarrassment. Sure, the Ravens are one of if not the top team in the league but 22 yards rushing? Eegads! They're a runaway train heading for a washed out bridge. That's one of my predictions that appears to be coming true, that the Rams were primed to implode this season.

My son also said the Rams would collapse after the super bowl disaster , also that the Hawks would go 12-4. Looks like the 2 of you were spot on about the Rams and the kids record prediction for Seattle would almost be a disappointment if they don’t hit it now .

The Rams are all about Goff. He looks scared , confused , doesn’t like getting hit. Sure there’s issues everywhere but even former boy genius McVeigh has his hands full trying to win with this QB. And it’s not like he has no weapons .

I wonder what would have happened to Rams season and Seattle for that matter had that kick in Seattle been 18” left.

Yup. Goff doesn't handle pressure well at all, and can't carry his team when the defense isn't playing well or the running game gets stuffed.

There's a lot of young, #1-#3 overall QB's that aren't looking so hot right now: Goff, Wentz, Turbisky, Darnold, even Mayfield.

Lets dont forget Winston and Mariota, #1 and 2 overall. Winstons a middle of the pack hack and Mariota is on the pine watching former bust Ryan Tannehill putting up almost twice the points and a 4-1 record as a starter.

How would you like to be a Chicago exec or fan watching Mahomes and Watson running around making plays and know you traded up to #2 to take Mitchell Trubisky with both of them available?

In Russ we trust. Thank God for Russ. We are ridiculously spoiled.
