Not good news on Ziggy and Iupati.

This is quoted from Seahawks.com / Pete's interview today - not that bad. I think they all play, maybe not every play...

Two more newcomers likely to make their debuts Sunday are defensive ends Jadeveon Clowney, who was acquired in a trade last weekend, and Ziggy Ansah, a free-agent addition who returned to practice last week after rehabbing a shoulder injury earlier in camp.

Ansah was listed as questionable Friday, not because of a specific injury concern, but simply because the Seahawks need to see how both he and Clowney, who wasn’t practicing prior to the trade having not reported with the Texans, handled the workload this week after long layoffs.

“They made it through,” Carroll said. “There’s still a little bit of a question mark, we’ve just got to make sure on gameday that everything worked out OK because they’re still responding to the workload. So there’s still a little bit of a question for Ziggy. We just want to make sure he’s all right. But they both did really well, and we have really positive thoughts coming out.”

Also listed as questionable is guard Mike Iupati, who Carroll classified as a game-day decision. Iupati injured his foot early in camp then injured his calf while rehabbing the foot injury, and only returned to practice this week. Ethan Pocic would start at left guard if Iupati doesn’t play.

“Mike Iupati practiced today for the first time really—he had team work today," Carroll said. "Mike got through fine. Again, for Mike, we’ve got to wait and see what happens—all the way to game day for him—but he did work and he’s had a great buildup. He’s had no setbacks in the last month. So it’s really close.”

The way things are sizing up, with our injuries, the Reed suspension, and the Clowney trade, we'll have to limp through the first half of the season before we get up to full strength. We got a break by opening with the Bengals, which on paper are supposed to be one of the weaker teams in the league, at home, and at Arizona, which is essentially a neutral field, in Week 4. If we can survive the first half with a 5-3 record, I'll be ecstatic.

We're going to have to depend on Russell and our running game to keep the defense off the field and keep scoring low.

I think Cincy will fair a little better than the predictors predict this year. About a .500 team in my opinion. We are fortunate to get them early without Green and we should fair pretty well against that Steeler team I got a glimpse or two at last night.

Nobody knew what to expect from the Bengals. Now they know and teams will adjust.
They played well, though and have some talent so they could win some games nobody would expect.

The Steelers might be a buzz saw next week after being humiliated on national tv. If we play like we
did yesterday we will be on the receiving end like they were against NE.

Poona has a calf injury, does anyone know to what extent he's hurt? I hope it's not serious.

Here’s Wednesdays Injury Report.
Copied from PFT

The Seahawks were missing six players at Wednesday’s practice, including receiver Tyler Lockett.

Lockett has a back injury.

Safety Tedric Thompson (hamstring), defensive tackle Poona Ford (calf), center Joey Hunt (ankle), cornerback Neiko Thorpe (hamstring) and center Justin Britt (knee) also sat out practice.

Defensive end Jadeveon Clowney (rest), defensive end Ziggy Ansah (shoulder) and defensive end L.J. Collier (ankle) were among those players who were limited.

The Seahawks did see the return of receiver David Moore, who broke a bone in his shoulder during an Aug. 22 practice. Moore practiced on a limited basis.

I can't believe I'm typing this...but I'd really like to see - and think he could be huge X factor - Prosise go ahead and pretty much take the 7-10 plays that would normally go to Penny. There isn't much film on him (haha), and he clearly still has extra gear that we witnessed a few times in preseason. I've never seen Carroll so dedicated to a player that has missed this much time. It's time now to put him in the mix. I understand players need to 'earn' their keep, but adding CJ to mix would help us against the Steelers, particularly if Lockett is banged up to begin with.
