Great news!!!
mykc14 wrote:That is the best news we could have heard today! 4 years at a little over 8 mil annually! Depending on how it is structured we should still be able to at least extend ET this off-season and add an OL or two. Now lets see where Tate comes in contract wise. I was hoping we could do all that without letting Clem go, but after giving Johnson and Baldwin about 5 mil combined (at least) then we probably will have to cut Clem to realistic do both ET and Tate. By my calculations we had about 14 mil before Bennett, so now were sitting at about 6 mil. About 2 of that has to go to rookies so that only realistically leaves us with about 4 mill at this point. Probably means the end of Clem, at least at this contract.

PFT says he took less money than what two other teams were offering...I guess it was Costco after all? LOL! Craziness, if those numbers are accurate, we just got a HUGE FREAKING BARGAIN!!!!!

[edit- just saw that in another thread here, too]
$28.5 million deal, with $16 million guaranteed. Bennett will make $10 million in the first year, $6 million in the second year, $5 million in the third year and $7.5 million in the final year.
$28.5 million contract that included $16 million in guarantees, a person with knowledge of the deal told USA TODAY Sports
A source has since confirmed to the Times that these are the contract details for Bennett: $28.5 million over four years with $10 million guaranteed in 2014 and $16 million guaranteed total
