initial reports say 5.5m guaranteed with incentives of 8m for to a total of 13.5m. Great job by Schneider, minimal gtd dollars and incentive for Ansah to get healthy and rack up sacks.

Awesome!!! This is the news I’ve been hoping to hear all day. This is definitely an impact signing and they still have room to sign another player or two if they want.

Could be a heckuva steal if he can stay healthy. Let's keep our fingers crossed.

According to Schefter, he might miss the first month of the season.

I thought I read where he had undergone an examination that concluded that there was no structural problems with his shoulder?

Oh, well, we'll see. As long as they have enough strings attached, it's a good gamble.

Here's an argument that says we made out pretty good by trading Clark.
I'm not sure I agree with it as I tend to believe that the team who gets the
best player wins a trade. It'll take a couple of years to fully understand
how well we did.

The article didn't factor Russell's contract into the equation, which makes the trade look a lot better than the alternative, which would have meant dedicating 25% of our cap space to two players, nor did he account for the fact that we only had 4 draft picks prior to the trade.

As you stated, it will take several years to accurately assess the Clark trade. But at this point, I really like it.

I'm amazed when you put on paper what we had a week before the draft, and what one trade, albeit it was sad to lose Clark, all became:
One 'new' First
One 'new' Second next year
and it led to moving down and going from 4 picks to 11...
and open up cap space to sign Ziggy and others and possibly BWags.

I still would of traded both my firsts with the JETS for Williams to anchor the DLine, but it is what it is. Not the way the team operates.

I like our offseason moves, too, but we have to keep in mind that it's all on paper.

With Doug and Kam's contracts off the books, our Cap room next year looks to be about $60 Million, so we could
have kept Clark quite easily and still re-signed Wagner and Reed along with other Free Agents.
That Ansah's contract is so much incentive based and only for 1 year, we are in good shape Capwise.

Riv, were you having a bad day yesterday? This is the second debbie downer post I've seen from you about the coming season. This is the time of year every team is a SB contender and rife for high praise and speculation. I get the realist approach but lets be upbeat and hopeful for the coming season.

60 million?? Are you sure? I heard yesterday that it was 20 after the four we signed this week. If we have 60, I’d sight Bobby and J Reed now and bring in Nick Reed + maybe Earl Mitchell.

What I've been reading is we are going to have a lot of Cap Room NEXT Year. I've heard as much as $70 Million, but it seemed too much and in examining it further it might not
include the expected UFA/RFA figures. But still, there was a comment that it was expected we would have the 2nd most Cap space next year, so I'm hoping it's a load.
