Who is your top 3 predictions for future Seahawks players you think will make the all-star or all-pro in the next couple years?

Here are mine:

1) Frank Clark
2) Bradley McDougald
3) Will Dissly (if he can recover fully)

I know it sounds crazy, but I think we now have the makings of a pretty good O-line, so I wouldn't be surprised to see an all-star (besides Brown) come out of there.

I'd vote for McDougald. He's been looking like Kam Part 2.

His coverage skills are certainly much better, but I don't feel like his line play is remotely close. Always been critical of Kams coverage ( since he was a rookie) but he certainly was an incredible factor on the field... McDougal IMHO will have to make his impact differently, but can certainly do the same.

Haven't seen Britt or any other olineman in this thread so I'll say Britt, Fluker and Sweezy.

That is an enormous shift from the response about Sweezy being brought back this off season. ( not by you specifically, just the general consensus). My only reservation there would be, I think this is a one year return. Seattle I believe signed him to a one year minimum contract, if he continues to play this way, it will take more than Seattle is willing to spend with Procic sitting behind him, to keep him in Seattle imho.

I'm all in for Dickson.
Not a huge fan of the drop kick fetish the hawks developed the last game, but one never knows what the next great fad will be.
All it takes is for sea-bass to pull a hammy and Dickson will be drop kicking field goals.

I actually thought the shift to the drop kick after the first two regular kick returns was moderately successful, and will only get better with more time... all four resulted in less success for the Rams... one wasn't good by any stretch, but the other three were either acceptable or good...

Edit: and the possibility of Jankowski pulling a hammy while shuffling to a buffet line is, very, very real....

I don't agree with you often but on this one I do. I'd hope we could keep Sweezy since he was on our SB Oline before he left the first time. It might be more than we want to pay if Pocic shows promise so if that is the case, I hope to high heaven that Pocic is learning from Sweez. When is Ifendi's first contract up? Can Pocic play RT? That's the only "MAJORE" concern right now on the oline for me.

I think with the rule change we could rotate how we kickoff. If they have blockers back there by the returner, we should drop kick to them. If they put returners in there, then kick it deep. The new rule change is having teams re-think their kickoff strategies.

I think if Sweezy holds down the starting position all year he'll have earned a longer contract. He still gets blown by occasionally in pass pro but his run blocking is excellent. I wish I could find a video of the block of his that sprung that first long draw play against the Lambs. Very impressive.

I ragged on Sweezy the first week against Denver but when I watched back the video, it wasn't him getting blown up, it was Pocic. So I hope to high heaven that if Pocic is put back in, he isn't as bad as that game. Like I said earlier, I think we have 4/5ths of the equation figured out now. I'd like to get that other 1/5 nailed down soon.

With Dickson able to show he can drop kick field goals, is there any advantage of lining up in punt formation then drop kicking it through the uprights as opposed to regular field goal formation?

I agree Dickson will probably be all-star very soon.

I think ifedi has 1yr plus option for 5th .. I am not in the replace him group though... since Carroll has been here, imho he is far and away the best right tackle they've lined up. I'm not hoping that they dump a player ascending, to insert another that has to go through the growing pains we've watched with numerous others ( including, carpenter, moffit, fant, britt, and ifedi the last year to name only some of them).

I know history is hard to let go of, and in regards to ifedi it appears it's going to be impossible for quite a few, but he has done nothing this season to be in the " run out of town on a train" group, in fact, he might be the best rt to line up in a Seattle uniform in over a decade... that to me at least is a situation to at the very least, let play out... if he reverses field and returns to early last season's play consistently, I probably would want him gone as well, but less than a penalty a game, and an excellent grade in pass blocking and run blocking against the guys he's been facing? Yeah, I'm definitely not on the get rid of him bandwagon.

I'm not a fan of Ifedi at this time. He is the 1/5th of the line that I was talking about above in my post that I said I'd like to get nailed down. "IF" it is Ifedi who nails it down, GREAT! If not, we need to find the right fit there. It would actually be good if it is Ifedi instead of finding someone else and training them up. As far as a decade for a RT, I'd say Giacomini was pretty good but that's about the only one I remember even going back to our 2006 SB year. Locklear wasn't as good as people thought he was and I never really like him there at RT.

No worries HCR, I didn't take it as you singling me out. I just weighed in on my opinion of Ifedi because I do have a critical eye on him at this point.

I'm surprised at how well Sweezy is playing. I don't think he ever looked this good under Cable.
Ifedi is also playing a lot better. He may never be as good as Lane Johnson, but if he continues on
this progression path he could be a top 16 RT, and I think he's already leaped up the rankings with
this different system of Solari and playing next to Fluker. Not lost in all of this is he's only in his
2nd full season at RT so he's still learning and will continue to make mistakes he won't make in
2 or 3 years.
It just takes more time than it used to for most Tackles coming out of College these days. There
are a few exceptions like Conklin and others, but most Tackles come from systems where they no longer
prepare their OL for the NFL like they used to.
