Paul Allen

Paul Allen just announced that his cancer has returned:

Seattle Seahawks and Portland Trail Blazers owner Paul Allen says he's recently learned that the non-Hodgkin lymphoma he was treated for in 2009 has returned.

Paul Allen buying the Seahawks is without a doubt the best single event that has happened to our franchise, not to mention that the man is a class act. I wish him well in his fight against this awlful disease.

I wish him well.
He will get the best treatment available, so we have something to hope for, but it's not something I wish on anyone.

Ditto guys! He is the one Billionaire that I always admired!

Not to go dark but what happens to the Blazers down here in PDX, and the Hawks, if God forbid he goes?

I saw this story earlier today and wish him well in his treatments. Maybe he can get that new treatment that eats the cancer cells now that Trump has okayed the experimental treatments for things like this.

It's a fair question. It wouldn't be just the Blazers whose ownership would be up in the air, but Seahawks as well. Allen has never married and has no children. The last I heard, his sister is the heir to his estate.

Very Sad. Hope he can put up with the chemo again. It's tough. He's one year and a tick older than me.. Makes you think about life a little more each day.

The NFL requires 'single person' family ownership. No corporations (except the "grandfathered in" Packers. If the Sister is the known entity, that is what would happen. If she couldn't or wouldn't take over, she would have to sell the team or have to have the legal and league approval to transfer it.
Any way it goes down, the league has already approved the basis of secession and would be in the middle of any new ownership groups approval --

Not sure about the NBA --

Heartfelt sympathies and best wishes to Paul Allen, a real life hero of mine. I've been touched personally by and lost loved ones to cancer, it's an insidious, horrible thing to have to go through, I wouldn't wish it on anyone. Beat it again Paul.
