NFL Teams Practice two hours or less each day?

Postby trents » Mon Sep 24, 2018 7:40 am

The announcers in yesterday's Dallas game were making a big deal out of the fact that the Patriots practice "2 hours every day" and stated that was more than other NFL teams. Is that it? 2 hours? What does that include? Were they referring to only physical drills? What does that include? I mean there are team meetings and film room sessions and time in the weight room that I know are part of being a professional football player. Are those things factored into the 2 hours per day? To get paid millions of dollars and put in 8 hours M-F and then 3.5 hr. on Sunday is a pretty cushy job.

The CBA sets out how much physical practice they can have, but there's probably more weight room, walk throughs, and classroom sessions that they have to attend.

It's not the hrs, it's the miles.... anybody thinking 2hrs +3.5 on Sunday is a cushy job, has never played hs football, much less professional football. Every tackle is a car accident.

They practice on the field together as a team like for a few hours per the union contract. Then I believe they do individual drills, conditioning and weightlifting, film study, individual meetings, and team meetings. I always hear them talk about sitting in meetings with their position coach. The QB and head coach meet daily I believe. They do a strategy meeting. Then there is lots of post-game recovery work spent with the medical staff. Lots of stuff going on.

LOL sounds like a "Union" job. My brother was a longshoreman in Long Beach and worked like 3 hours a day and got paid for at least 8 and used to rob the stuff blind before they put it in containers. Seahawks fit right in
