I had a love/hate relationship with him and now he's with the enemy. I loved him up to the day he exploded on the sidelines against his own team and then did it again and again knowing it would made the 'news', too. It was over at that point.

As for the video... I'm glad he didn't go down in the dirt like SI did, a couple years after the dam burst, but the sidelines outbursts weren't fake, the split in the locker room wasn't fake and the 'nice guy' video as far as Pete and JS at the end go is total fake. No way we were going to resign him.

I'm sincerely happy he has a 'family' that loves him and hasn't been arrested for domestic violence or touts the fact he's the father of 9 kids, like another well known DB does. HIs kids needs a haircut. Evidently he now has a PR firm working for him. Must be the LeBron influence coming into play.

Too many hurricanes coming at the islands... WTF????

He is what he is and we all know that, so it was expected that exploding on the sidelines or something similar would happen if or when we hit a rough patch.
Having said that, he has a lot of upside to his focus. He wants to keep improving and others around him to also, and he won't accept bad play without accountability.
I like Sherman from what I know of him, and always will. I think for the most part he has something to say that most of us can learn from.
As far as this video, it's part of his preparing for the inevitable career change in a few years if not sooner.

Uncle Sherm as I guess our players call him showed me little yesterday. Got burned bad on one particular pass. Maybe a waste of money.

It loks like NFC West is off to a rousing start, rooting for raiders tonight

That's because you guys don't have a safety like Earl Thomas to support him.

Without having seen the Rams yet, the NFC looks pretty weak, with all 3 teams losing their openers.

I don't think Sherm's ever going to be the player he was before his injury. I don't think the team did either, which is why he's a Niner now in the first place.

I wonder if it will turn out that all of them will realize that their individual greatness was really a result of their ‘team’ and not the fact that any of them (besides ET and maybe Wags) were truly HOF’ers. Throw in PCs scheme and you have a recipe for for a truly historic defense, that in the end created too many egos that couldn’t handle the ‘normal’ treatment of a top level NFL QB by the team (although Avril and Kam more than likely would have remained team guys if not for their injuries).

None of us know how accurate the accuasations are of Pete treating his franchise QB differently than other team members. Sherman and Bennett's comments could be influenced by sour grapes after having been discarded like yesterday's newspaper.

However, IF their accusations are true, if Pete was not calling out Russell in team meetings, practices, press conferences, for his mistakes while calling out others, then I could understand...without agreeing with..how an attitude of resentment started to fracture the locker room. And I reject the premise that it's uncommon for coaches to call out their franchise QB's. Mike Holmgren used to go ballistic on his QB's (Favre and Hasselbeck). Bellichek and Brady have had their sideline confrontations. I've seen Ron Rivera get on Cam's case.

I'm reminded of an interview I saw a long, long time ago of Willie Davis, one of the first black players on the Green Bay Packers of the '60's. Someone put a question to him, asked him if Lombardi was prejudiced. Davis's response: "No, he treats all the same. Like dogs."

Being the subject of a coaches' wrath can be a unifiying experience in that misery likes company.

So first Pete is lax. Now he's calling people out so badly that they're pissed off? Give me a break. You rarely hear Pete calling anyone out. He let those players talk all they want. You watched this team. You should know better than to buy into garbage that doesn't even fit your view of what you've seen. You literally complained about Pete not reining in players like Sherm and Bennett and their mouths. You can't tell me that he somehow favored the QB so greatly he offended the other players. More like Russell hasn't done anything to warrant any kind of attack or criticism. He puts everything into the game including taking care of his health having not missed a game in the playoffs or regular season in 5 years, even playing a hurt knee.

Why would you criticize the one guy who's total focus and commitment is football, not talking smack to coaches and other players and grandstanding on social issues. That is probably what more likely drives the whole BS thing behind the scenes is because guys like Bennett and Sherm are using pressure tactics to get others to fall in line with what they think.

I could rewrite that entire article to make it seem like Sherm and the other players were the bad guys with my own narrative and you apparently would be buying into that if it suited your tastes. It's especially annoying coming from a guy that has watched this game as long as you have who should know better.
