"doom-and-gloomer"
Noun
doom-and-gloomer (plural doom-and-gloomers)
(informal) A person who predicts doom and gloom; a pessimist, naysayer, or Cassandra.
obiken wrote:How? How can I look at the schedule and say barring injuries to other teams, that we are going to win more than 7 games makes me a gloomer? Sorry, this defense will be a C+ at best. The OL C- at very best. CowHerd, 7-9 Wilbon 4-12. So how I am a gloomer?

Having said that, I'm looking forward to this season. For one, I'm retired, and will have all sorts of time to not only get my fill of the NFL, but of college football as well, and I might even venture out of my man cave for some Friday night high school football. Secondly, this is almost like an expansion season with so many new faces. Compared to last year's opening day, we could have as many as 18 new starters, with Bobby, KJ, Russell, and Britt being the only veterans from last season penciled into the starting lineup at this point. I'm not sure if we had that many new starters in Pete's first year.

depaashaas wrote:[Actually only 23 players from the 09 season made it to final roster in 2010, there were 30 new starter in Pete's first year. Now big difference between now and then is that last season they lost some key starters to injuries they showed some dept last year something that was not there in 2010. With that said many questions remain but like you said this is the NFL and anything can happen, like with better kicker we would have been in playoffs or a 7 and 9 team hosting a home playoff game like in january 2011. Pete Carrols running of the team is frustrating from time to time but hardly ever boring.
