The x-factor to me is how deep his contacts/connections go around the league. If he can reboot their scouting and proves himself to be a decent evaluator of prospects, you never know.
For the time being, this isn't really a great reflection in terms of the interest on that level to work for Jed. There's also the thought that K Shanahan is really gonna be calling the shots with final say, given circumstances of Lynch getting on the job training. Whatever ends up happening, Lynch certainly won't be guilty of being lazy. He'll put in the effort and due diligence, but players as GM's (even ones in or going into the HOF) has a pretty spotty history. Regardless, John Lynch is a solid person to have as one of the faces of your franchise. Class guy for a team that's had plenty of issues lately.
