Todays Games????

Postby Uppercut » Sun Jan 22, 2017 9:16 am

Who is everyone rooting for? Or maybe no one is watching.

I can't stand either AFC team but would like to see NE lose

I like the NFC teams but probably will pull for Atlanta since they are the only team of 4 that do not have stacked trophy cases.

Both games have potential for being entertaining.

ATL - 35, GB - 34

PIT - 19 - NE 16

I'm rooting for Atlanta and Pittsburgh. For the SB, I'll be rooting for the NFC entrant.

Rooting for ATL from here on out, and not rooting in the AFC because there is no lesser of evils. I'd like to see Martellus Bennett get a ring just because I like him, but I don't want the rest of the team to win. And I can never cheer for the Steelers because of their rapist QB. (On a similar note, we haven't had a Perrish Cox thread, but his signing really makes it harder for me to support the Hawks. I can't believe they signed him, and I'm rooting for him to get a career-ending injury so I can go back to rooting for the Hawks without a mountain of cognitive dissonance.)

How I think it goes down is that NE beats GB in the Super Bowl.

Oly that career ending thing is over the top and then some . You are better than a disgusting comment like that. Come on!

As for the games I have one rooting favorite , Danny Quinn. He led us to the top. I fear Green Bay and microwave hot Rodgers may have the edge, especially seeing how Seattle moved the ball and missed several opportunities to score more.
I'll bet my heart Atl 41-fudgepack 34.
The AFC is like the election deciding which std I would prefer. I'm going with sh1+burg because Brady looked Peyton manning at the end ish last week. If the Texans had Anaheim they may have won with Brady's 18-38 performance with several lucky moonshits on 3rd and forever as belichick admitted. Plus he will get no faviref treatment from the officials . Goofy don't want to hand that trophy back to Brady ever. Dean Blandino will be watching from the mother ship in ny.
Stealers 27- patsies 20.

It is over the top and then some. I get that. But my wish for him wouldn't ruin his life nearly in the same way as he ruined that woman's, so I don't feel bad at all. That f*cker got away with some of the most disgusting things a person can do. He should be in prison, but instead he's playing for the Hawks.

But I see why you think it's disgusting, and that's okay with me.

First of all, I am baaack! My life has been in a turmoil in the last few months and my PC died and I only now have a new one. What a time to be forced in to silence.

OK, I am rooting for the Atlanta Falcons because of several reasons not the least of which is Dan Q. and Matty Ice is ready to assume his place at the top wrung of QB's.

Sure, the smart money is on Aaron Rodgers to continue his MVP run and return to the Super Bowl. Like I said, I am rooting for the Falcons but I expect the Pack is Back once again.

I made up my mind years ago to NEVER want the Stealers to win another play off game. BUT! This is N.E. we are talking about and I simply don't want to see Tom Brady in yet another Super Bowl. So, YEAH I WANT Pitt. to win the AFC Championship game because it would be a double stake in Bill Belicose's cold, cold heart. The first stake is of course the loss, the second stake is that no original AFL team will play for a Super Bowl this season and that means a whole lot to B.B.

I will root for who ever the NFC team is to win the Super Bowl.

I don't know what really happened with Cox and neither do you . Just like Frank Clark or any number of studs like Tyreek Hill Jamies Winston # 1 overall stud.

These are big rough men and much of the alleged acts occurred during their teen years, likely alcohol fueled with 2 sides to the story.

If a guy is convicted of a crime it's one thing, allegations ruin lives when the dude could be completely innocent.
If you want to go back to the Tim Ruskell high character low talent era have at it.
If Schneider and Pete are ok with Cox so am I.
Win baby.

If your a trump voter issue over.

While it's true that we don't know what really happened, that is true of everything that happens to everybody, but that doesn't stop us from making informed judgments anyway. The police documents make me pretty sure he and Thomas drugged and raped a woman: https://www.scribd.com/doc/96703852/Jan ... ius-Thomas

And the lack of a conviction doesn't sway me a ton. I think OJ did it, for example, but a good defense attorney can get guilty people to walk free. I think that happened here.

I don't want a return of the Ruskell years, but that doesn't mean that I want rapists on the team. I loved Marshawn's attitude, and Sherman's reaction after the NFCCG against the 49ers was one of my favorite moments watching him. I love the edge this team has, but there are limits.

I'm a Trump hater, FWIW, but that's a different thread.

~~~
But, like I said, I do get your point. After reading the stuff about Clark, for example, I had enough reasonable doubt to give him a shot, so I've made similar arguments you're making in other situations. I just don't have that same amount of doubt about Cox and think his lack of a conviction was a failure of the justice system, just like OJ.
Can't stand either AFC team.
Falcons all the way. They've played well this year - have been around for 50 yrs in the league - and it would be nice to see them get a 1st Lombardi.
Wow - seeing an old clip of Dan Reeves doing the 'dirty bird' dance almost forces me to retract my statement, lol.
Brutal.
This group is more likeable.
I couldn't access the police report entirely but what I read I already question the cops assertion.
By their calculations a slight built woman with 4 drinks and a shot in her was not intoxicated enough to be incapacitated. If my wife drinks that she's sleeping like a baby.
Bottom line we have a system of justice and the men were exonerated .
I'm going to go with it.
I'm glad we have a good corner to compete. We need it. If the guy is a bad actor it will show up soon enough.
I think he's camp fodder at this point in his career and expect a draft choice or PS player to compete for the starting job.
One of my brothers, RIP, became an Atlanta Falcon fan when they were an expansion team when he was a little kid (before I was born) and they drafted Junior Coffey who had been a star at the UW. For most of his life he never had to root against one another because they rarely played. He passed the year after SB XL. I know for a fact he would be rooting for the Falcons to go all the way, especially now that the Seahawks are done. It is satisfying that we did better than what the Packers have done.
I will always wonder if my brother would have rooted for the Seahawks both 4 years ago and this year. I have to believe he became a Seahawk fan first, but he was able to keep up a dual "fav" team because for most of our existence we were in the AFC, only now since we have returned to the NFC that we have bumped heads with ATL more often.
My two reasons for rooting for the Falcons is my Bro. and the fact that they have never won the Lombardi Trophy before. It is always cool when a team that has never won it before wins one.
It would cool for Matt Ryan to play in the big game, win it, and possibly even get the game MVP. This years Super Bowl to me would have been even better if it would have featured both Atlanta and San Diego. The Falcons and the Chargers, two great QB's airing it out and puling up the points, both teams with a chance to win it all for the first time. oh well, I will settle for the Atlanta Falcons!
I'm glad Atlanta won for them and me. I'm not sure I could watch a super bowl with Rodgers vs either afc team. I might have had to go shovel snow or something .
Wow, S4E - God Bless your brother. I used to like the Falcons back when Steve Bartkowski was playing. Still remember them losing to Dallas back in the Leeman Bennett days. Always a Seahawk fan first, but liked the Atlanta unis and was a huge Walter Payton fan and Earl Campbell as well. Great days of the NFL.
I'm pulling for Atlanta in the SB. They earned this, they deserve, and now it's on to Houston to try and bring home a Lombardi for a very good - and hot - team right now.
Surprised that both CCG's were such a Dud.
Fun to see Steelers get Blown Up.
Falcons have a shot in dome for SB.
I think it'll be an entertaining game.
Pats gotta be favored, but I think Atlanta has reasonable chance to win this straight up.
There wasn't a lot of exciting games in general this playoff season, with the Packers-Cowboys and Chiefs-Steelers being the exception.
Although the numbers don't show it, IMO the Falcons have a better defense than the Steelers. If they can get some pressure on Brady and at least slow down their short passing game, the Falcons have a good shot at knocking off the Pats.
I think the Pats win huge River. One team just happy to be there, the other expecting to win.
