Wilson and Sherman the reason for the drop off

Postby Anthony » Mon Jan 16, 2017 1:31 pm

"You don't know that he dealt with a significant knee the whole second half of the season and it was stressful for him to try to get out there," Carroll said Monday on 710 ESPN Seattle's the "Brock and Salk" show. "He had an MCL problem that he could play with, like Russell did. He had the same problem that Russell did and he made it through it."

Enough said on the issues with both.

WOW, that explains him being a step slow. But why no mention on the injury report? A little more Belichick coming out of Carroll but it will likely draw a fine now that hes admitted it publicly.

Yup it explains Sherman being a step slow, Wilson not being able to throw his best or run. We knew about Wilson but I think some forget this is usually a 6-8 week recovery and that is without playing they both played on it. So they are far from 100%. Definitely a little Belichick. Now lets hope he can do a Belichick with retooling the oline some and the defense

I'm impressed that we don't get this information till after the season. Going forward I will always withhold criticisms until after we've played our last game and information like this finally comes out.

I hope it doesn't mean more lost draft picks.
I can understand Sherman better now as it must have been pretty sore to play on and the 3 and outs could be more frustrating.

Do they need to report it if he wasn't even limited in practice? If so, every player would be on the report every week, because they're all playing through something.

Yah, they do. An MCL injury isn't minor and they disclosed Russ's and Lockett's injury so they should have done the same with Sherm. Expect some type of repercussion for this event.

I just saw that in this article: http://sports.mynorthwest.com/235342/se ... ns-injury/

The NFL’s Injury Report Policy reads in part: “All players who have significant or noteworthy injuries must be listed on the Practice Report, even if the player takes all the reps in practice, and even if the team is certain that he will play in the upcoming game.”

Yep, sounds like fines will be coming.

Pete had a hormonal moment. Not smart. I understand his motivation in light of fans watching Jones abuse Sherman last week and saying hes slowing down.(guilty as charged).
I also understand why he didn't reveal it in season. Its one thing for a QB to lose mobility but a corner with a reputation as shut down being exposed as seriously injured would be a duck in a shooting gallery whereas teams still avoided Sherman much of the year. They were starting to figure it out late as the defense spiraled downward.

Pete should have kept his piehole shut though. The Hawks don't need this extra scrutiny or a loss of draft picks, particularly if this isn't the only manipulation of the injury report. But the barn door is open. I love me some pete but sometimes you gotta say WTF

The disciplinary rules also allow for more than just fines if there are repeated violations of rules and it includes all rules.
Considering we have been previously fined and lost a pick this year, it wouldn't surprise me if we lost another either this or next year.

hey if we lose draft picks it will give Pete an excuse for not doing anything for the oline, well we wanted to but we lost draft picks so we couldn't and we neede3d to use our 30+ mil to help the defense so sorry same oline, But he don't worry Wilson has great medical.

I think they can even take some CAP room if they wanted or if the transgression is bad enough.
The fact is our FO has made a few mistakes over the years and we have to pay for that.

You dudes just as bad if not worse that Bellichick and Co!

Going to lose at least 3 draft picks and Sherman will miss 4 games

When you look up all you will see is a Ram

It is reported that the failure to list Sherman on the injury report may cost the team a SECOND ROUND PICK in the upcoming draft. Wtf was Pete thinking opening his mouth ? Wow.
