How the Game May Go Down

Postby Uppercut » Thu Jan 12, 2017 11:16 am

This is what I see happening.

Atl wins coin toss, defers

Sea first play run for no gain, second play RW sack, third play - bubble screen for 2 yds - punt

Atlanta stopped on 1st and 2nd down, 3rd down Ryan 45 yd pass to Jones, stopped again next two downs but score on 3rd down

so games sort of goes like this for 1st half, Atl 17 - Sea - 6 at half

Atlanta comes out 2nd half and drives 75 yds for TD - 24-6

Sea gets running game going has long drive for TD - 24-13

Alt stopped, Sea again drives for TD in Q-3 24-19 misses xtra point

Q-4 Atl drives for FG 27-19

Sea FG - 27-22

Atl stopped and miss FG with 2 min to go

Sea drives field and scores 27-29

Ryan has one more chance with 30 sec left, makes a long pass to get to Sea 45

Sherman INT to end game

It would be nice to see Seattle's offense score early and the d come up with first half turnovers.....

This is anybody's game, really. Except we are the overwhelming underdogs as I looked for "expert projections" across the interwebs. How you describe the game, UpperCut, is all too familiar to us all - isn't it. I almost can't stand it, but if we win at all, I will be happy. We are not playing the Lions at home this week and 26 points won't get us a win against these Falcons.

Go Hawks.

Bing predicts Falcons 73% chance of winning. Maybe so.Maybe not. Nobody predicted us to be anywhere near Denver in 48 and how did that work out?Who is better? Ryan or the 2013 Manning?
Talking heads seem to play follow the leader and Atlanta and MVP candidate Ryan is flavor of the moment but its more of a wish than a premonition IMO.
They are sick of the nasty hard nosed Hawks in the second round 5 years in a row.Tough nuggets talking heads. Were back.

Ryan is 1 and 4 in the playoffs and blew a 28 point lead before being bailed out by Gus Bradley and Pete Carroll or he would be 0-5. How is it going to play out sitting on their ass for 2 weeks with that high powered passing offense idling ? Rust maybe? we will see.
Wilson is 7-3 postseason.

Meanwhile Seattle played a tuneup game and got some serious swagger back as well as rediscovering a punishing run game.Atlanta can be run on a lot easier than Seattle especially if McDaniel is back.Atlanta has a very good back but not too many backs run it up on Seattle.Atlanta's defense is decent and Vic Beasley is a beast we need to go directly at early and often with Reese, Rawls and Prosise if available.

Seattle is minus Earl but plus Kam,Rawls, and Bennet for 4 quarters hopefully.Wagner is out of his mind as is KJ.

How is Bennett going to play against the team that cheap shotted him and injured him? I have an idea, just stay onsides.

Russ isn't the statue he was in week 6 as his burst down the field blowing past Rawls to make a block proves. They likely didn't have to even account for him last time.He could gash them for 100 yards with his wheels by himself if they get careless. Can ryan do the same LMAO.

P Rich wasn't on the field as I recall and hes been one of the most explosive receivers in the league the past couple of weeks.Add Baldwin, Graham, Willson and kearse if he can catch.Maybe McAvoy.Maybe Prosise too.
What they catch is with one hand all night baby.

Hester is returning to a place he knows well and made a lot of plays at.
Coaches know each other very well. Slight advantage quinn because he knows every weakness of our defense. But unfortunately for him there aren't many.

This might go like 48. Ryan is a fairly immobile giraffe who pees himself under a withering rush. Hes not near as slick as Rodgers or even Stafford at sliding in a crowded pocket but relies on getting his drop, planting and firing a quick dart to superior receivers who get great separation against most teams.
Seattle isn't most teams. If the front 7 gets home.....
If Russ could do for 4 quarters what he does in the 4th quarter we would score 84 points a game. I keep hearing Seattle cant hang in a shootout but if they half that it will be Atlanta and a battered Ryan trying to come back. Julio might get the T rex arms facing Kam Bam.Laid out is preferable which would be game over.

We have a better overall roster and I know we play em one at a time but many of the guys are still around from 2012 including defensive stars and the triggerman. How will they react to being back to the scene of that awful last second collapse?
Ill never forget the pissed off look that Wilson had on his face when the FG went through and i'm sure he remembers how he felt even more. The rookie playoff yardage record he set at 377 yards there is still standing though.

Seattle could lose but they aren't getting blown out. Atlanta on the other hand.... People forget we held a 17-3 lead earlier in the season with way more guys out.

I smell something coming. An Atlanta Azz Whooping.34-16 Hawks.

Watcha goin ta do after Saturday? Go fishin with cable?

I see a total collapse coming, you boys have not strung together two weeks of good play yet and Russell has baby chores to think about

In 48 hours the Rams will be on top of you in the standings by virtue of alphabetical order

Falcons 35

Sea 9

This is what drives me crazy. Of course, Russ isn't the one calling the plays. I remember reading about the Texans game that we won when Sherman had a pick-6 that ultimately ended the game. Right before the comeback, Lynch told Wilson to 'just take over the game'.

I'm pumped for today! I love the Hawks chances with a healthier Wilson and the entire D line ready to get after Ryan.

My wish list for today (aside from a Hawk victory... :D )

- Use Jimmy VERTICAL. He's a nightmare to defend going down the field.
- limit the targets to Kearse
- turn RW loose
