Jones to refs: Watch the holding please

Postby Zorn76 » Wed Jan 11, 2017 5:50 pm

lol, well, Jones I guess is looking for any advantage they can get...

This may backfire if he finds himself complaining early and often. This particular crew is not known to be flag happy, so I do like that going in.

If we do win the game, however, it's gonna have a lot more to do with legitimate play than anything else. We have a good shot here, and I'm hoping past playoff experience will show itself on Saturday.

I watched good morning football and they went on and on about the blown call against Shernan in that game.

# 1 it wasn't blatant in full speed due to the craftiness of Sherman . # 2 These jackass talking heads riding Atlantas chub might try watching the whole play. Jones punches Richard Sherman in the facemask and actually grabs it and pulls down knocking Sherman 3 or 4 yards inside so he could get a free release . A lesser corner is on the ground it was so violent . To his credit Richard caught up and got back in the play.

It wouldn't surprise me if the officials saw both and let the all pros battle it out. While I am concerned about dean blandino dialing up a makeup game this also shows the fear Jones has about facing the Seahawks .

If he didn't fumble a catch to Thomas in the closing minute it's an easy Atlanta win anyway.

Whining biatch.

That tactic by Julio could backfire, be interpreted by the refs that their brotherhood is blowing calls. Additionally, if the refs are to call it close, they are then subjecting themselves to accusations that they catered to Jones's appeal.

Hopefully the refs will just let those comments flow off them like water off a duck's ass.

It also may backfire in that it is sure to piss off Richard. This can be good or bad. If he plays heady and the way he is capable of playing inspired by being a 4.5 point dog and criticized all week - we will be in good shape. If he gets too emotional, trouble in river city.

I hope it isn't setting up as a referee takedown of a peaking Seattle team, that is all.
When the money line keeps moving Atlantas direction and the pundits are about 80% convinced a playoff gagger team is going to beat the battle hardened Hawks its like they are on to something.
We will know pretty soon but the guys better play clean. The league needs another face and Matty ice is the chosen one.
Win or lose I don't want it to be about the refs on saturday.

The pundits are getting ridiculous. They are hammering the Sherman no-call from the last game along with the LOB sans Earl Thomas. Bruschi thinks the Seahawks (among the other wild card winners) didn't show anything to suggest they could win the divisional round because the #1 and #2 teams made a better showing of themselves to get those seeds. I guess Atlanta getting a half game more than Seahawks and finishing the season beating teams with losing records means they are way ahead of the Seahawks. Fingers crossed the Seahawks shut these pundits up!

Also this article says the head referee has called the least amount of DPI, holding, and illegal contact penalties.

I don't want blatant no-calls, but, if both sides are dishing out shenanigans, much like the last game, then I'm okay with the refs letting them play.

Lets see how it goes. If they let Julio punch Sherman in the face then grab his facemask and violently yank it down (by far the biggest and most obvious foul on that play not to mention the first foul)then they flag sherman for a borderline interference call that is often missed we have problem Houston. The media bias is getting irritating. These guys know better, especially former players but has anyone ever heard the start of that play mentioned one time?

Clearly everyone is rooting for Atlanta. It would be sweet to bust their bubble.

I can't believe this is even a story, like no receiver has ever complained about defenders holding going into a game before!

It's humorous since Jones is a premier WR, so he shouldn't be concerned about any of this to begin with, yet chose to go public with his complaint.

I'm just hoping we get off to a good start for a change. Any points in the 1st quarter would be nice to see, along with keeping Falcon's O in check to start the game. We are familiar with the environment we'll be in and what's at stake.

Go Hawks!!!
