Brutal week for everyone but ObS, who widened his lead in the confidence points battle and is now tied with Sis straight up at 62-44. Nice going Old Man!

I thought for sure I'd drop further. Happy to be sharing the lead. What a crappy week!

Well Riverdog (Seattle) and I (Minnihaha) both bow out of the survival league this week, leaving Sis and Zorn still going strong with no strikes and ObS hanging on with one foot out the door.

Meanwhile Sis still leads the pick'm straight up at 70-48 with ObS and I one game behind.
And ObS is still solidly ahead in the confidence points battle with a 30 point lead over yours truly.

if only I didn't have to Auto-draft in the fantasy league. It is soooooooo hard to care about a team with Blake Bortles and Andy Dalton........ick.

NO! I usually do well in fantasy, but I could not make the draft so the computer auto drafted the worst team ever. I'm trying to pick up a scab here or there, but this is clearly my worst year in fantasy ever.

I hear that! But then, missing a week early and then trying to claw your way back into it can be an interesting exercise ... (speaking from experience here)

Bump...and good news.

While our pool here is for bragging rights - which I would still cherish - I hit one another one for actual $.
It was a single strike (survival) pool, and he bit on Minny who lost to Chicago. I had taken Den over SD.
260 smackers. Not bad:) And funnier still considering my overall record.

Nice play! money's gooder'n bragging rights ...

On to this week: Sis is up two games now in the straight up competition over ObS and I while ObS maintains his comfortable lead in the confidence points battle.

Oh and there's nothing new to report on the survival pool.

No change in the overall standings in what was a brutal week in general, Riverdog was 7 & 7 while everyone else was sub .500 ...

And only 2 of us had the moxie to pick the Hawks. Just saying. I second guessed myself on so many of those games..... I think the end result would have been about the same... I changed a bunch of picks last minute. Some of them ended up being right while others were wrong...... back to square one, which was pretty bad. WTG RD. .500 last week was a tough chore.

I'm guilty as charged! I honestly thought this one was going in the 'L' column and am embarrassed to no end that I didn't have faith in my Hawks! I thought that missing Bennet we'd suffer severe Blount force trauma ... I gotta say this was the best crow I've ever eaten though! (combine it with some baby gold potatoes, Italian sausage slices, a little balsamic vinegar, evoo, pearl onions and plenty of Italian seasonings and it's down right palatable!)

Actually - I had the Pats until about 5:00 PM on Sunday when I had two feelings overwhelm me....
a. I just got a feeling the Hawks would win (I felt a little comfy about it - in a VERY strange way) and
b. I figured I'd go down with them if they lost. I felt too guilty picking against them - which I NEVER do.

I really thought they would lose at the beginning of the week. I even told a colleague (Pats fan) that we would lose this weekend and then not again - including beating the Pats in the SB. Then on Sunday, I just started to feel it. The Hawks do NOT get blown out and it was not going to start happening on Sunday night when everyone was tuned in. That is when they are at their best - PM games when they are the underdogs.

Nice recipe - I'll likely need it before long, Bob. ;)

There's a little to report this week ... Sis's lead straight up is now 1 game over ObS while I dropped back a game and ObS still leads the confidence point race by 26.

And no change in what is shaping up to be an extraordinary survival league.

Sis is now 2 games up on ObS straight up and has moved into second behind ObS in confidence points.

And if that not enough to show who the smartest two here they're both, along with Zorn, still going strong in the Survival league!

We're becoming a two person race now with ObS leading Sis by 27 confidence points (with Zorny in 3rd) and Sis leading ObS by 3 games straight up (with yours truly in the #3 slot).

Good luck next week!

Sorry for the late update this week (I'm on vacation ... there are priorities):

Looks like the lead horses are pulling away from the pack with Sis now owning a 4 game lead straight up and ObS a 47 point lead in the confidence points (did you drop out of the points race Sis or was that unintentional?)

Meanwhile in an amazing survival league we've still got Sis and Zorn with no misses and ObS with one strike ... in week 15!

I made my picks early with the intention of going back and adding in confidence points and just plain old forgot. I saw after TNF that I forgot, but was out of town for a weekend get-away and never got to it. I'm glad I made my picks survival and pick' em.

Have FUN on vacay, Bob. I had a super nice weekend and didn't watch the Hawks game until after I knew RW three 5 picks. Ignorance really is bliss. ;)

lol, it's unusual for a survival pool to go this long without a single miss, especially when this season has been as hard as any to predict...straight up! ha.

Thanks for kind words, c_b.

Sis is still 2 up in the straight up competition while ObS has a 69 point lead in Confidence points.

Meanwhile Sis Zorn and ObS are still picking the right games in the Survival pool!

This week Sis dropped a game to ObS in the straight up and now leads with 150 correct to 149.

Confidence points still have ObS in the lead with 1321 to Zorny's 1258.

Over in the Survival league ObS finally got his second strike picking San Diego this week leaving Zorn, with no strikes, and Sis, who seems to have forgotten to make a selection this week (I know how it goes with the busy week!) with one strike still alive going into the final week of the regular season. Never seen a survival league go on this long ... well done you guys!

You OK Zorny? You didn't make picks in either league this week ...

Not that it mattered in the Survival league, you're our Champ this year with Sis getting eliminated taking Houston! So congrats man, hope everything's OK.

Meanwhile in the pic'm ObS and Sis are tied at 161-93 while ObS maintains his commanding lead in the confidence points going into the playoffs.

My apologies for not updating this last week (worse, I gapped out my picks last week! ... mourning our loss I guess)

As of now ObS is one game ahead of Sis in the overall and killing the confidence points by over a hundred points! Way to go Old Man!

It looks like once the rest of the field got eliminated the system declared Zorny the winner of the best Survival league ever and it won't let him continue his streak through the playoffs ... I guess once there is no more competition it doesn't wanna put forth the effort anymore. Congrats Z!!
