Aaron Rogers is Lebron of the NFL?

Postby obiken » Wed Dec 21, 2016 2:08 am

Max Kellerman, said today that Rogers is the Lebron of the NFL. I know he is great but that's a bit of a reach. Moreover, it is easier for one great BB player to dominate than in any other sport.

After watching ONE ten minute block of him on new First Take, I know I'll never watch again. Steven A is more unwachable than he ever was with Skip Bayless, and Max is so full of himself that I couldn't drink my morning coffee for fears of spitting it out.

I now have switched to Skip and Shannon, who at least are civilized. Who cares what crap they spew, but at least I can watch it.

By the way, you know that they are PAID to each take one side in everything, so blaming Max has nothing to do with Max, it's the producers who come up with that crapola... LeBron? Aaron? Must of been a real slow news day.

Did you ever watch the really old, old Saturday night live news with Dan Akroid and Jane Curtain... that's what you're watching on AM TV and Max is the SLUT. :D :D

Let's see 9 years as a starter and 1 Lombardi..1 super bowl appearance and a few bad playoff games.
Rodgers is as slick as anyone with a deadly arm but he cannot take over on a daily basis like lebron .
He's not a natural born leader of men .

Rampant hyperbole

"Jane, you ignorant slut!"

Man, those were the days! I remember once madly trying to dump a date off early so I could get back to my place by 11:30pm so I could watch SNL. That was about 5-6 years before VCR's. Highlight of the week.

espn is seldom on my radar anymore, honestly.
It's just hard to watch.

And it must've been an especially slow day for the network to come up with this one.
Geez.

Yeah but they've got Hass now so I watch mostly their pregame stuff.

Got tired of Prime and Irvin on NFLN anyway. Their takes are completely predictable and they over emphasise everything. If you talk like everything you say is the most important thing you've ever said it all just sounds the same, only louder.

Yup. And another aggravating characteristic of too many of the NFL 'analysis' shows these days: they don't know when to shut up.

Talking over each other a little in a lively exchange is one thing- continuing to bullsh*t, laugh, and joke with a 2nd analyst in the background while a 3rd is talking onscreen is another.

For the last several years, I've been listening to "Moving the Chains" with Pat Kirwan on Sirius XM NFL Radio. I can't remember his side kick (Brady Quinn, maybe?), but I really like it. If you have access to satellite radio, I'd recommend giving it a try. Sometimes commentators on TV tend to over dramatize their comments so the visual looks better.

YES!!! Exactly. LOUD as hell and always bringing the topic around to themselves as athletes. Every now and then, a comparison is warranted. But the yelling and ignorant dialogue between the two felt so juvenile that I quit watching NFLN. I liked ESPN years ago, but other than a few folks like Matt, I find it unwatchable. Trent seemed hopped up on drugs or something.

Whatever happened to analysis and inside scoops? I'd love to see some Pat Kirwin and less Charlie Casserly.

Not exactly sure. The Sirius NFL Blitz is pretty good, too. Here's a link to their programming:

Weird..... I was typing about Pat Kirwin when you were, RIV. :D :D His side kick is Jim Miller - former Bills QB. They do a very nice job together. Pat is my favorite. And in CA, Moving the Chains is on in the afternoon on SIRIUS 88. like noon to 3 or 1 - 4. Gil Brandt (I love that old dude) and Alex Marvez (cannot stand his radio voice) come on after with Late Hits.

Prior to Jim Miller, Kirwin's co-pilot was Tim Ryan. He was a little to Jock talk guy for me....but I liked him fine. Pat seems knowledgeable (was a GM for the Jets) about upstairs thinking and cap stuff. He is also very close friends with Pete and does not avoid saying so. Pete wrote the forward to his book "take your eye off the ball" or something like that.
