HumanCockroach wrote:Eh, if they win more games or have a higher win percentage than the any other eligible NFC team, they "deserve" the second seed, whether they drop another one or not.
Never believed in the " they didn't earn it if they didn't do what I want" thought process, that's what records and standings are for after all.

Falcons at Panthers
Lions at Cowboys
Hoping the Giants win on Thursday night to pull within a game of Dallas to keep the 'Boys motivated to win on Monday night.

It's a tribute to Pete that this hasn't happened or become public if it has. I wonder if Sherman was a symptom of it or a greater issue.
And not only that, but the Giants and have beaten the Cowboys twice. If the Giants win out and the Cowboys lose out, they could end up with not only the 2 seed, they could still get HFA if we were to lose 1 of our last 2.
Hawk Sista wrote:The Giants cannot be the #2 seed. If they win out and Dallas loses out, they will become the #1 seed and Dallas will be the #5 seed. The top four seeds are for Division winners - it isn't ranked based on the record of the top six teams from each conference. It is the Division winners ranked 1-4 and then the two wild card teams.

When I look around the league, I see teams getting better and us sliding a little.
That's what has me worried.

Steve young was yanked after several turnovers and the good mormon boy stood on the sidelines dropping F bombs in coach Seifert's ear.Word around the league was the team was in disarray.
A couple of months later they drilled the Chargers in the Superbowl and Young threw 6 TD passes to win MVP honors.
We Seahawks fans are so spoiled by their incredible determination and competitiveness we don't know how to process a blowout anymore. Personally I was quite optimistic immediately following that loss to GB.
Uncharacteristic mistakes coupled with Rodgers being off the hook accuracy wise is the whole story of the game.24 of the 28 point lead came off turnovers. 2 wide open TD throws were missed by Russ and one more was dropped.
2 turnovers occurred in field goal range.Several others gave the Pack a very short field.
Eliminate those mistakes which were largely unforced it could have easily been a Seahawks win.
It was one of those days and proved nothing more than that Seattle's great players are human and can indeed have that type of day.
Seattle has proven time and again over the last 5 years they are capable of beating anyone, anywhere, playing any type of game whether smash mouth or pile on the score.
I feel confident.
Hawk Sista wrote:HA! You are only saying that because they always do, RD.That said, I kept waiting for Dak and the Girls to let off a stinker, but they really never have. Maybe this is their year?
Actually.... If I'm objective, we just don't seem to have it right now. But the truth is, this is a team that "can" get into a groove and win it all. We could also lose out and lose to the Giants or Bux in week one of the playoffs. I'm not sure why I feel hopeful after losing to Green Bay by 28. Perhaps it is the consistent results PC coached teams have produce over time???
Hawktawk wrote:Rd I hope you're right about Dallas but I know you are yet to recognize how formidable Tampa bay is.
The road loss broke a 5 game and 7 of 9 win streak. And yeah they turned it over 4 times and almost beat a team whose qb flirted with an NFL record for percentage of completion and the best running back and offensive line in the league for quite a while performing at a very high level.
You underestimateTampa and therefore Dallas .
Either team will be an extremely tough out .
