Pickem and surviaval leagues

Postby Distant Relative » Mon Aug 15, 2016 5:16 pm

If anyone else would like to set up and run the leagues this year feel free to do so as I will be working 60 hours a week for the foreseeable future and just don't have the time this year.

Hope you all are doing well and Go Hawks!

I got your back 4th cousin twice removed, heavy workload the next day or two but I'll get 'em up soon (unless somebody else does it first).

Cool, I will be looking for it.

Thanks Bob.

Sista, set reminders. :D I missed several last year myself. Getting old sucks that way, this year my phone is going to remind me.

Disclaimer: I was talking about me getting old not you Sista!

Thanks for your efforts, Cbob. Sign me up for both.

Just an FYI, for what it's worth, I'd rather employ the KISS principle and just go with a straight pick'em and not assign confidence points.

Too late bro, was making the leagues up while you were posting; it's a confidence points league but we can do both straight up and confidence points from the same format, it's easy math ...

Name - Hawkshack Pic'm League
Group ID# - 13084

OK, I've registered, but it doesn't look like too many others have joined as there's only 3 of us in the pickum league and 2 in the survivor. Better keep this tread bumped to the top.

Just signed up!

Maybe a link will help...

Also, I noticed I had to log out, then login again before I could go from one group to another. Not sure why, but that was my experience anyway.

OK I'm in. Had to defend my title on the pickem league (blind luck did prevail). Maybe this year I can do a bit better on the survivor league, although I doubt it.

c-bob - When I type in group ID # for pick'em pool, it still takes me to survival league. Has it been doing that to you also? I'm pretty sure it was working fine recently, but not working for me now.

EDIT: Oops - Saw that I could still get to pickem pool by link on top left margin of yahoo sports page. 7 so far in pickem, 6 for fantasy. We're usually around 10 or so who stick with both all season long (or however long survival one goes).

Egad what a week! I bombed in both pools ...

Congrats to ObS for leading the confidence points and to Sis and Zorn for leading straight up with 10 wins each!

Meanwhile over in the Survival Pool PT and I each have one foot out the door already (I honestly can't even remember what motivated me to pick the Lambs in week one ...)

Thanks, c_bob!

Surprised to be in decent shape after losing my 15,14, and 12 pt games, lol.

KC, Amazingly, spared me an opening week loss in survival. Meanwhile, that stomach punch to the Chargers could definitely have a carry over effect for next week.

Well now I feel a bit better, gained a couple games to be tied with Zorn leading straight up with Sis one game behind.

Meanwhile OBS is leading the confidence points with Zorny (again) 7 points back.

Wow, nothing like taking it on the chin for Thursday night football, by picking Houston and putting a 10 spot confidence points on 'em.

Seriously, I know the Pats are always prepared, but a shutout?

Belichick must have some recordings, this time in UHD:)

After a rough week for everyone I find myself in second behind two of my favorite people in the Pic'm league: ObS leads the confidence points by 14 with Zorn just 4 behind me in third and Sis leads straight up at 28-20 with ObS and I tied for second at 27-21.

Meanwhile Pthawk is our first elimination in week three of the Survival league with me as the only one with one foot out the door now.

Not much change in running order this week: ObS has widened his lead a few points in the confidence pool with myself in second 19 points behind while Sis still leads straight up by one game over me with ObS falling two games back for third this week.

Sorry pthawk, bummer of a way to have to bow out, I do hope you at least enjoyed your vacation!

On that note, I spent last week in Newport RI at a work related conference; it's a beautiful place and I had some of the best seafood I've ever eaten!

My straight up picks resemble a win % more tied in with ATS.

The Bolt have been so close in every game and I just didn't trust Paxton Lynch to best a pissed off Rivers. That said, I almost changed it and I gave it very few confidence points. We shall see what the rest of the week holds.

You still lead the confidence points battle (though I narrowed that lead a bit) while Sis had opened up a two game lead now straight up.

It's been an odd year, we aren't seeing any 14-2 weeks by anyone ... as Zorn has said; this looks more like an ATS competition.
