But since we got both, it doesn't matter which order htey came in.
We've now addressed two of our biggest needs, (replacing Mebane, and o-Line) and we've done it with a freak athlete in Ifredi who has an incredibly high cieling, and a guy who almost EVERYONE projected to go before the 20th pick in the first round, and we got him in the second. A HUGE steal by any measure.
So far, this draft is terrific. I couldn't be happier.

The only fly in the ointment is that one of those guys we got in the third (can't remember who) has a pretty bad injury history.

Weaknesses Suffered a broken ankle that knocked him out for the season in late October. Has had to cope with injuries during his time at Boise. Never played a full season of football.

Still it seems based on some reports that I have only glanced at that these are both "Cable Picks" who he liked because of their exceptional strength. It seems that according to experts that the Hawks passed on more complete and NFL ready picks for the OL. Remember the last time the hawks had two "Cable Picks" in first and third rounds? Carpenter & Moffit.
I like what I read about the other 3 picks and feel that the TE was a great selection for us.
I am sorry I was never impressed with either one of those guys. I don't think Pete has taken a really good OL since his first year. Okung was a no brainier and then Max

( though to be fair, I'm thinking it's just that they have all gotten tired of looking like morons a year or two later, so are prone to giving an A for every selection)

I am glad your happy Monk I really am.
My problem is the whole Cable drill. We are not getting OL with any skill set at all after the first PC year. I promised I wouldn't snivel about Ifetti, so I wont. We all agree on Reed, he was a steal. A broken Guard from BSU, please. He cannot stay healthy. The 11th guard on Kiper's big board. 11th! We are getting worse not better. At least we took some OL thats a rare.
The only way out I see is Joe Thomas and for most of you that's a big no. There are higher rated OL left in 5th round than this guy. Projected as a 6 or 7th round. Another project, a year away, we needed immediate help. Get a guard out of LSU rated a 5.5 and its a better risk. Come on LSU, BAMA, MISS, where they pound you to death. Next I am waiting for Tyler Johnstone out of the U of O, then I know I will have mind melded with Tom Cable!
Wait my mind to his mind, my thoughts to his thoughts, oh we were WRONG! Vannett IS NOT a TE he will be converted to an edged pass rusher!

Obi's view. I think there were better out there like Booker from Utah.

ME--Once again we could have gotten a guy in the later rounds. Oh well!

.Collins was an ideal fit for Bielema's blueprint on offense with his light feet to make sharp cuts, but also his physical nature to welcome contact, finish forward and do most of his damage between the tackles. Collins is a physical runner, but needs to improve his pad level and ball security to be more reliable at the next level
