NFCCG Prediction Thread: Seahawks v. Niners

Postby Eaglehawk » Thu Jan 16, 2014 9:30 am

Weather no problem this game. Offense steps up a bit.

Seahawks 38
Niners 17(The last 7 points in garbage tIme).

Defense damn close to shut out the Saints most of the game. This was Drew Brees! (Granted we had some inclement weather but still, Kap is no Drew Brees).

I am banking on a similar performance but with Kap taking more shots down the field, and our secondary getting more int's.

I really hope you're spot on! However I suspect the game will be much closer, Hawks earn the W 24-17. I dont want it to be any closer, but the 9'ers are playing good ball as are the Hawks. One miscue could cost the game. I think Kap makes that mistake before RW does.

I like Steratore calling the game. His crew has only called 13 PI's all season. Advantage Hawks.

This is true, but he doesn't get his crew for this game- it's mixed in the Conference CGs IIRC.

We jump on 'em early as usual and in the second half Kap leads 'em to a couple late scored to make it close but then Beast puts 'em away 34-20

I agree with all of this, but it's hard for me to see the Hawks putting up 24 on the 9ers with what I've seen recently. Unless something changes (coughharvinreturnscough), I see something closer and lower scoring, like 17-13 Hawks. But if Harvin plays the whole game, I think the Hawks put up another 7 points.

Sounds like Percy wasnt cleared to practice today. Hopefully he's fine, resting up after some wicked hits and perhaps some gamesmanship with Harbaugh on whether or not he'll play. Does anyone know how long before the game they can clear him and have him available? Can they wait until Sunday?

23-10 Seahawks.

O gambles on it's first possession and are rewarded with a wide open Golden Tate on a go route for a quick TD. Kap and the Niners are rattled from the insane crowd noise and they and the LOB cause SF into making a big mistake on their opening drive. Int to Sherman. D continues to dominate throughout and once the Hawks get to 23 they go back to their conservative ways. SF get's a token garbage time TD towards the end of the game. Lynch get's 100 yds. RW throws for 230. D causes 3 turnovers.

Stone Cold Lead Pipe Lock.

I feel good about the game which worries me because i usually am paranoid as hell. I think Russel will push the envelope a little. I think the 9ers have played at least 4 in a row on natural grass and they are coming up to the Daytona 500. Zoom Zoom Zoom, should have had 2 picks last week. This time our DBs squeeze it. Kap gets the crud knocked out of him a couple of times. Lynch rolls. Tate goes off. Refs save their flags for the Peyton Manning retirement party. Hawks 28 9ers 20.

I say we win, but not a blowout like the last two home games we've played against the Niners. IMO this one will look a lot like the last Niners game in SF or last week's Saints game. Gore gets held to less than 50 yards rushing, Kaep gets picked off 3 times, one a pick 6, and Beast gets 125 yards and a TD, red zone offense still bogs down and Hauschka boots 3 FG's. I say we win by two scores, and I'll stick with my prediction from the Saints game at 23-10.

Edit: Wow, THX, I just read your post. Brilliant minds think alike.

The Hawks better have a spy committed to Krapperdick or he will rush for 89 yards and two TD's. That said, who will be covering Crabtree, Boldin and Davis? I sure hope KJ plays this weekend?

Not willing to make a prediction for this game but I will give a key to the game. DB's need to bump the 9er's WR's hard at the line of scrimmage to throw them off their routes not allowing them to get down field while the linebackers and Dline bum rush Krapperdick. He has had way to much time in the pocket the last 4 games and will destroy us if he has the opportunity to run! Take his weapons away for a few seconds and bring pressure from the edges so if he runs it's in the middle of the field at least at the beginning of the run. Seems like the guy likes to run around the outside.

Go Hawks!

Sherman probably draws Bolden and Thurmond/Lane will cover Crabtree. Look for a lot of Cam Chancellor/Vernon Davis contests. I think we match up pretty well against them. The big worry will be stopping Gore and putting them in 3rd and 5+.

Sherm on Boldin ... it's almost a guarantee one of them will draw a personal foul. I like Maxwell on Crabtree. Love Cam on Vernon. Totally agree with stopping Gore, but my worry is keeping Kap contained. If he escapes up the middle, so be it, he'll take a hit. We can't let him get an edge. The bad angle the rookie from GB took Kap exploited for 15 and a game winning FG. We match up very well. Play sound and I think we're fine. I look for Mebane to have a big game.

Maybe, just maybe the reason we have such alike predictions is because the outcome is a reality. We are operating on the Quantum Level and have tapped into a realty which is going to be realized on Sunday. We are going to win. We are going to the Super Bowl. Seahawks, 31-20

Higher scoring than many predict, with 2 INT's from Kaepernick, creating a shorter field for our offense from those.

Can hardly wait.

Bay area media here in CA is already calling this a win.

F Them!

GO SEAHAWKS!!!

I predict that after this week of constant questioning the media has done about our offense, that our receivers, especially Tate and Baldwin will be REALLY fired up, and out to prove something.
I also predict that, Wilson will have a near perfect game.
I predict that Kaepernick will throw two INT's, and the Niners will have problems getting plays in on time, and communication will be a problem at least a few times in key downs.

Though the game will likely be close (at first) and VERY hard fought, I do see us pulling away eventually as the little mistakes all collectively begin to add up and take their toll.
By the end of the game, I see us winning comfortably, 34- 17, the last NIners points coming in garbage time.

24-20 Niners. Of course I am predicting that ;).

Kaep did throw 3 ints first meeting, but he also had the exact same performance the following week at home v the Colts. Panthers did about the same to him week 11, and the next time they played they could not stop him from the late 2nd half on. As you all say, those early season games are the "past". Lol! Predictably, the past is irrelevant when referring to Lombardi trophies, but of course is completely relevant when we're discussing a game that was played 16 games prior to this one.

Anyhow, I see a close game. The plan is to make RW beat us, which he is fully capable of doing. At the same time Isee more weapons on O for us, and two Ds that are playing about the same level. Both Ds are hot.

Again, neither result will surprise me, win or lose. I will stay west coast and support Hawks if they win.

Good luck and enjoy the game.

Course he also has thrown the ball regularly to the other team, and that was against GB ( that should have ended the Niners post season) and 4 different throws to the Panthers, which is indeed completely relevant. So you are either hoping Kaepernic reverses his trend to throw to the wrong team, or hope the defense continues to drop the mistakes thrown their way ( not Likely with Seahawks DB's).

Eh, Boldin may have tackled Hyde and GB may not have even scored dude. We still had the ball with 4 min even if that is a pick 6 and we drive right down the field. Notice that's what happened right after that play anyway.

Its the final 4. No doubt the best 4 teams are still playing. There is no shame for any team in losing at this level. Clearly the ownership of the NFC West and further the balance of power in the conference is at stake tomorrow. Seattle has been lucky enough and good enough to have the game at home. All things being equal that should be the difference. You can talk about trends, hot and cold teams etc all you want but tomorrow is a new day and its 0-0. We will see what happens soon enough.............

I am going to disagree here. Ownership of the NFC West has already been determined - Seattle has it. Further balance of power will be deteemined next yr. Tomorrow is the game to determine who is better this yr, that's it. Very few teams get to this point yr after yr, and back to back SB appearances happened twice in the last 15 yrs. So rhe outcome of this game won't determine much in the NFC moving forward. Lol, if anything the SB participant is prob a lock NOT to win the West next yr.

Expect more of the same from the networks for their SB predictions.

And in the end, it doesn't matter anyway.

Well the trends continued, Wilson did just enough to win, Kap continued to throw the ball to the wrong color Jersey's, Seattle took the ball away, Kap struggled in Seattle, Gore was a non factor, Lynch continued his production, and Seattle won the game. Not sure which trends you were hoping for, but the did indeed continue....

Give Kap his due, he ran very, very well and provided the big plays with his feet that we all know he is capable of, tip of the cap to him. That Niners defense is no joke ( though not on the same level as Seattle's IMHO) and did extremely well pressuring Wilson. Not sure a fade on Sherman with the game in the balance is a good idea, but they certainly played the most complete game in Seattle in the last two seasons.

Well hard fought game, see you guys next season...
