I saw the Jets heading for four wins five at the most before this news. Every year media hype gets people thinking they are better than they are.
I think they finish dear last in what should be a more competitive division as the pats take a step back and bills and dolphins step closer, maybe even beating out the pats finally.

Some were uptight, some loosely goosey, some had obvious leaders, and others seemed to be looking for someone to stand apart and assume the leadership role.
God only knows what was going on with the Jets.

And position does not make a difference.
In fact as a QB who is presumably the leader of the team you can't just back down from a sixth round draft pick rookie in front of everyone and maintain respect in the locker room. If you want to fault someone fault Geno's offensive line who didn't step in and take up for their QB.
Hawktawk wrote:I was reading up on this kid who jacked Geno. It sounds like he was having an outstanding preseason and was virtually unblockable as an edge rusher with a variety of moves. Maybe the Hawks bring him in for a look see? Russ would host his camp for free.
NorthHawk wrote:Well, it seems that Rex Ryan and the Bills picked up IK Enemkpali.
I wouldn't have thought any team would do that after putting the starting QB out of action for 2 months.
Ryan had him last year, so I guess he thinks it's worth the addition.

Feez wrote:I have to say I don't think it was a sucker punch given later details that came out. you put your hands on someone during an argument don't be shocked if they punch you. I also think in the long run this could help their team I am not sold on Smith as a Starter and it wouldn't at all surprise me if with the weapons he has available to him Fitzpatrick doesn't do well enough to cause a QB controversy by the time Smith is healed. I have long thought Fitzpatrick could do well in the right environment, I think if he ever had a chance it would be there and now assuming there isn't huge locker room problems (fights are an indicator there are)

Ryan Fitzpatrick has been blessed with the mentality of Brett Favre and the arm of Matt Flynn.

Important to differentiate Intelligence from Mentality. He's very intelligent. He just plays the game like Favre but doesn't have the arm to complete any of those risky throws that Favre did. He's a complete gunslinger but is armed with a pop gun.
