Having fun trash talking a Packers fan

Postby RiverDog » Wed Jan 21, 2015 12:31 pm

He wore an Aaron Rodgers #12 jersey on Seahawk Friday at work last week, thumbing his nose at the scores of employees wearing something Seahawk, so he deserved it.

Anyway, I asked him if he wanted to sign up for a new insurance policy from State Farm marketed by his favorite player and offered exclusively for Packers fans like him called Discount Double Choke. As I am currently at home nursing a serious back injury, he responded that if I'd come back out to work he'd relocate my back pain by a few inches to the south.

Not content to let that go, I asked him not to get mad for me bouncing a harmless suggestion off his head. After all, I got the idea after watching that onside kick in Sunday's game, figuring that all Packers must like having things bounced off their heads.

God, it's great to be a Seahawk fan!

Hey - People that dish it out should also take it.

My (49er and Raider) friends here in CA don't do it much anymore, but when we did (especially with booze involved), it nearly came to punches several times, lol.

Generally speaking, the fans that initiate that stuff are the polar opposite of confidence, it means they're very worried about an upcoming outcome. And when it comes to playing in Seattle, they should be:)

That said, the Packers had this game and CHOKED it away.

Glad we were able to take advantage of every mistake that came our way.

Hope you recover soon from your back injury, RD!

Go Seahawks!!!

Though not envious of your back condition, I do wish I could have more fun at work like that. But alas, I work in California where there is little fun to be had as a Seahawks fan. That 49ers 'rivalry' we had, if there really was one, was pretty short lived. There are a couple Packer fans, but both are very quiet and don't boast much. I feel bad for them.

I feel ya Pasadena. All I'm getting is a little "Merry Christmas" here and "you got so lucky" there." All the Niner fans (except one who insists on saying seacocks as often as possible) have pretty much shut up by now. The one Packer fan texted be at the end of the game and said congrats, what a comeback. what are ya gonna do? :D

Actually you guys should honor the purpose that was involved in my back injury.

On Monday morning, I was digging a large hole in my front yard, about 2' wide by 2' deep. There was a large piece of concrete in the bottom of the hole that was preventing me from going further to achieve my desired 3' depth. The point of my shovel slipped off the piece of concrete I was trying to undermine, my foot slipped off the shovel, the hole I was in caused me to lose my balance, and I fell over backwards, landing on the handle of another shovel that was laying on the ground behind me. It struck me on my lower back, off my spine so no spinal or organ damage, but I sustained a deep bruise that causes severe pain and of which I can't walk and can't go to work.

The reason for digging the hole: So I can erect a new flagpole I bought, so I can fly my newly purchased 12th man flag prior to the Super Bowl.

OMG RD!!! Talk about taking one for the team!!!
I was out of Sirius range at work this AM so I was listening to some dull idiot who is on ESPN radio. He started ragging on the "Wilson winner narrative"He pointed out how Wilson has Beast and LOB blah blah blah. He said Wilson had the worst day ever as a pro last week. Well thats debatable hes in the Superbowl, But I can at least understand that sentiment. Then he said "Wilson threw 3 good passes all day". Honestly an ESPN host said that.......Then he talked about how Wilson cant throw from the pocket. Honestly I never listen to ESPN radio and now I see why. I dont even know who this idiot is but it just shows the ignorance which is just fine by me. As for the Packers and Matthews the cheap shotting best body roids can buy...too bad so sad.

Sorry to hear you are laid up, River, but at least you were injured doing the right thing.

Hang in there, and hopefully you will be ready to suit up on game day.

Oh, I'll be suited up, alright. #12 River Dog will be there come hell or high water.

I had contemplated leaving the hole at 2' deep and allowing the 3' tube I was going to us as a form extend a foot above grade, but when I read the instructions, it recommended a depth of 3', so I figured I'd better go deeper considering the fact that we have unusually strong winds where I live..my old aluminum flagpole snapped in one windstorm. If I am unable to manage a spade next week, I'll just put the tube in and surround the flag pole sleeve with Ready Mix and call it good. At least I'll have my flag flying prior to the SB.

My efforts might not be as heroic as Sherman or Earl fighting through injuries in the NFCCG, but it damn sure better earn me some respect from those that question my loyalty to my beloved Seahawks.

Wilson DID have his worst game as a pro. You can't get much worse than a zero QB rating he had at halftime.

But that's what makes his performance last Sunday so impressive. A lot of quarterbacks.... Jay Cutler somehow comes to mind..would have mailed it in from that point on. Russell hung tough and didn't let it get him down. IMO the reason he was so emotional at the end of the game is because his teammates never lost confidence in him despite how poorly he had played.

It kinda defuses this rumor about his teammates not warming up to him because he isn't 'black' enough.

Oh, and Hawktalk, I listen to ESPN Radio, along with Sirius NFL, Fox Sports, Mad Dog Radio, et al all the time no matter what their take is. I like to think that I can separate the wheat from the chaff and ignore the B.S. that you noted about their comments concerning Russell.
