Next seasons opponents

Postby Hawktown » Tue Jan 06, 2015 6:03 pm

Seattle Seahawks
Home: Arizona Cardinals, San Francisco 49ers, St. Louis Rams, Chicago Bears, Detroit Lions, Carolina Panthers, Cleveland Browns, Pittsburgh Steelers

Away: Arizona Cardinals, San Francisco 49ers, St. Louis Rams, Green Bay Packers, Minnesota Vikings, Dallas Cowboys, Baltimore Ravens, Cincinnati Bengals

I like the looks of this! I would like to see Maple Bars (Tate) get lit up by out D and a shot at Dallas at their house! Hopefully the bears keep up the good work they finished this season with. Not concerned with the browns as of right now or Minnesota.

But first. GO HAWKS!!! MAKE IT A REPEAT!!!

I'm already planning on at least two road trips but we'll have to wait until the dates are announced, which doesn't come until late spring after the draft. I have 5 weeks vacation and a bunch of airline mileage burning a hole in my pocket.

Looks like exiting season, or as Pete would say "cool schedule" seen this a 2 weeks ago and had to laugh when espn was talking about what a tough season the broncos have next season with 7 playoff teams on their schedule and the Hawks have 8, make it 9 because they play the cards twice. It's amazing what Hawks have done in the last few years, 6 or 7 years ago I was like " WTF how can we get a winning season with opponents like that" and now I'm like "bring it on b*tch*s

So, only one trip to the far East Coast... The Ravens game is the longest trip of the year. CAn't wait until they move the Rams to LA!

All the NFCW teams would actually be in the West

Cincinnati doesn't qualify as "far East Coast"? It's in the Eastern Time Zone and not that much difference in flying time between there and someplace like Baltimore.

It's a moot point anyway. The east coast thing seemed to make a difference with Holmgren's teams, but not this one.

I also like geographical alignments, too, so bringing the Rams back to where they belong appeals to me as well. But I don't think it's going to happen. I really think that St. Louis and/or the State of Missouri will cave, just like Minnesota caved a couple of years ago. LA seems to be more use to the league as a bargaining chip to help them blackmail cities into building them their new stadiums. That threat would not be nearly as credible if it were San Antonio or Portland.

Never worried about distance, my concern has always been the 10am start time which is historically unfair to west coast teams, and I still see a possible 6 10 am start times on the slate, if this year is any type of barometer, there will be several back to back 10 am road games again.

I'm not even worried about the early starts anymore. We were 4-1 in early starts in 2013, the exact ratio you would expect from a 13-3 team. Additionally, I don't hear a lot of coaches on the west coast complain about it, or at least there isn't anything close to any of them being outraged. It seems like it's just us fans that are annoyed.

Not much investigation involved in finding those complaints if you need verification.

I don't hear Pete complaining about the schedule. All he's ever said is that they have to take steps to mitigate the effects, like leaving a day earlier than usual to get adjusted.

However, I don't see why they can't start more games at 1:00pm PST anyway. It seems as if there's twice the 10:00 am starts than there is at 1. I'm sure it has something to do with money/viewership, but I'll be damned if I know why they don't balance the start times.

RD, I've never been to the East Coast, and I really thought Ohio was closer to the mid-west then East Coast, but you're right that it sure doesn't seem to matter the 'this' Seahawks.
