Pete is in a program that has the hot seat ready at a moment's notice. I am wondering how long he will last at the present rate. 2-3 more losses in a row

With Tom Brady involved, I doubt it. Pete can go 0-17, and I still think he keeps his job. There are no real "win now" expectations with Raider Nation front office. Pete's job is safe for now, and they will look to lock in a young QB next season to build around. Geno's just another bridge QB.

If anyone is on the hot seat right away, it is Mike McDaniel and Brian Dabol.

Even though Pete's the Raiders 3rd coach (at least) in the last 3 years, I doubt it happens but I don't bet on him keeping the job past the end of this year . The Raiders are rolling in $$$ as Allegiant is unbelievably successful as a venue and the team controls it so they can afford to pay him to leave.
I've seen all 3 games as I live in Vegas so they're all on local TV and I will say that Geno never looked worse in the last game. It was exactly like the "bad Geno" we would get 3-4 times a year without Locket and DK to save his butt.

Pete still has amazing energy and competitive drive for a 74 year old. Love to see him revive the Raiders so he and Harbaugh can go to battle again on the field.

The Raiders are 1-2. A quick look at the standings reveals that there are 16 teams with a 1-2 record or worse, a full 1/2 of the league. No one in their right mind would fire a first-year head coach in the first half of the season unless something really bad happens, like if an Urban Meyer or Jon Gruden-type of situation arises.

Even if the Raiders lose their next 6 straight games to start the season 1-8, I don't see Pete getting the hook. IMO his job is safe this season. As 4XPIPS said, if any coach is on the hot seat, it's McDaniel, in his 3rd season, and/or Daboll in his 4th, but even those guys aren't going to get canned this early in the year.

Once teams start getting mathematically eliminated from the playoffs, then we can start a death watch thread.

Pete was hired in a large part to change the culture of the Raiders. That doesn't happen over night and it takes a few good wins to solidify the teachings of his program.
I sometimes wonder what would have happened to us if not for the Beastquake game. It seemed to get most to buy in and new players looked forward to going to a team on the rise.
LV is currently floundering but winning makes a huge difference. If Pete doesn't get many wins or a streak of wins then his future in LV might be in doubt but if at the end of the year they get on a roll then he probably stays even if they don't make the playoffs.

Maybe he'll trade for Russell.
