Not at all!

The object of preseason games is not to win. It's to decide who to keep on your roster and who to let go, particularly with regard to your lower round draft picks and undrafted free agents. Sure, it's nice to win your preseason games but when it comes to priorities, it's at the bottom of the list. By the time preseason starts, teams already know who there starters will be and so they get little or no playing time. It also true that for any given preseason game the two teams playing may have very different goals for the game when they take the field such that one team may play starters and second stringers for a good part of the game whereas the other team may only field players that will be far down on the depth chart if they make the cut.

Long and short of it is you really can't tell much about how a team is likely to perform in the regular season by their record in preseason. A prime example is the KC Chiefs. Their preseason record is 0-3 this year. Do you think they actually have that bad a team?

And it's even worse now considering not many starters play much for determining how the regular season might go. Preseason just there for new talent assessment and roster management. Doesn't even feel like there is a warm up game anymore.
