Cap Space as of June 4th '25

The Seahawks have $31.21M in Cap space which is 9th best.
I wonder what they intend to do with it - maybe go after a big name in a trade or roll as much as possible over to next year and re-sign some current players or maybe make a bigger splash in FA?

Here's a list of the teams Cap space

I'm torn. I think this team has the young talent to make the playoffs, but not the NFCCG, so splashing on a big free agent would be nice to see. But it also feels like re-signing Cross, Lucas, etc. and reworking other contracts now could open space in the next few years where additions might actually make us contenders. The only things I don't want to see is them do nothing with that money or overspend on an average free agent.

I believe there is enough Cap room to re-sign any or all of the players nearing the end of their contracts. We are now using the void years strategy which we didn't do previously and that can really help the Cap.
Like you said, though if they don't waste the space on mediocre veteran FA's or cuts we should be in good shape.
I'm still concerned about the IOL, though we needed to upgrade 3 positions and only addressed 1 unless there is a miracle (by Seahawk standards) and a Tackle actually successfully makes the switch to IOL.
Maybe as well Olu or one of the other Centers turns out to be a legitimate find at Center in this new Offense. I hope so, but after all this time I'm not holding my breath.

Re-signing Cross has to be the priority. He's had some ups and downs but has played well enough to earn a 2nd contract and we need some stability on the offensive line. I'd wait on Abe, make him prove it this season.

I don't think that there's an urgency to spend this cap money. Keep it available for a trade should the opportunity arise.

Cross isn't a dominating LT but he isn't a big weakness either. The challenge will be if he can be re-signed for his legitimate value and not what he might conceivably get on the open market from a desperate team in need of an upgrade at LT.
The Seahawks might have to pay more than he's worth just to stay even in talent, but that seems to be the way in the today's NFL with some positions.

Agreed. Cross isn't a dominating, All Pro caliber player, but he's been healthy and consistent. He's started 48 out of 51 games for his career with us. I don't mind overpaying a little for a player like him, especially at a position like left tackle.

We don't know what we've got in Cross yet. Maybe when healthy he is a dominant all pro type.

*edit - sorry That's Abe I'm thinking of with all the injuries, Charles Cross has been pretty healthy, and pretty good too. I'm much less worried about LT than RT.
